Make an Impact Through Planned Giving Did you know that you can touch the lives of others while creating a lasting legacy? You can leave a bequest to the Associate Alumnae of Douglass College. A bequest is a gift made through your will or trust. It is one of the most popular and flexible ways that you can support our missIon.
Some of the benefits of making a bequest are: 1. You leave a lasting legacy to be remembered. 2. You may receive estate tax savings. 3. You will be recognized as a member of the Associate Alumnae of Douglass College Ivy Society. In addition, gifts of stock and bonds, real estate, retirement assets, cash and gifts of insurance are a tax-wise way to contribute and make an impact. Thoughtful giving benefits everyone. Ivy Society members are recognized through special honor roll listings and with
a distinctive member pin. Members may also receive special recognition at AADC programs and events and may be invited to a special event honoring our benefactors. With the help of an advisor, you can include language in your will or trust specifying the AADC as the beneficiary, such as “I give the (amount or % of estate) to the Associate Alumnae of Douglass College, 181 Ryders Lane, New Brunswick, NJ 08901 to be used to the fulfill its mission (or placed in the AADC endowment).” Questions pertaining to a will or other testamentary instrument should be directed to AADC Director of Development Rachel Bellamy at 732-2461600 or at rbellamy@douglassalumnae.org.

Benefactors recognizing our most impactful supporters who are members of the AADC Leadership Society, Ivy Society, and scholarship and fellowship benefactors. The AADC awarded 48 Alumnae Fellowships for post graduate study to graduating Douglass Residential College seniors and/or alumnae. Through the generosity of generations of Douglass alumnae, the Associate Alumnae of Douglass College is able to offer significant scholarship support to incoming and returning Douglass students. We provided nearly $800 thousand in scholarship funding to current students. We welcomed the Class of 2025 with a special AADC Proud Douglass Alumna T-Shirt giveaway at the Douglass Student Center on May 14. We also offered AADC branded rain ponchos on a wet day on campus! We celebrated Class of 1975 on its 50th and milestone classes and at AADC Alumnae Reunion Weekend 2025, starting with the Vanguard Luncheon. We kicked off Saturday’s festivities in Voorhees Chapel with the procession of classes, the announcement of five-year class giving results and the 2025 Alumnae Awards Ceremony, followed by the popular Champagne Jazz Brunch and Reunion activities at Douglass Student Center. The Toasts & Tunes Cocktail Reception with DJ and Music Through the Decades wrapped up celebrations. Our fall and spring AADC Alumnae Council meetings were hosted virtually. Our regional and affinity networks hosted gatherings throughout the year. The AADC Pride Network hosted a virtual program about civil rights and liberties, featuring Leonore Carpenter, Associate Professor, Rutgers School of Law, Camden. The NYC Regional Connection Group headed to Broadway for lunch and a performance of Gypsy at the Majestic Theater, and were joined by Sharon Matlofsky Karmazin '67, one of the show's producers. Alumnae and friends connected on our Douglass Alumnae social media platforms, including our new LinkedIn non-profit page. The annual Cabin Fever event with crafts and sweets, was hosted by the AADC Bunting Connections Affinity Group & Young Alumnae Network (YAN), at the Ruth Schilling Hennessy Alumnae Center. YAN also hosted its fall YAN O Ween event at the AADC. And groups and networks also hosted holiday gatherings at the AADC. Endowed funds are distributed in a manner that is designed to preserve the value of the endowment and generate a predictable stream of available income. The specific use of endowment distributions may be restricted by the donor, or unrestricted. The donated contributions in a non-endowed fund are utilized in their entirety. When the contributed gift has been expended according to the donor’s wishes, the fund ceases to exist. The specific use of a non-endowed gift may be restricted by the donor, or unrestricted.
