A MESSAGE FROM OUR DIRECTOR OF BANDS
Greetings! On behalf of our Principal, Mrs. Nicole Shaw, Faculty, Staff, Students and Administration, we welcome you to Dutchtown High School and this evening's concert series! Tonight, we feature The Dutchtown High School Wind Symphony, under the baton of Mr, Adrian Adams and The Dutchtown High School Symphonic Band, under the baton of Mr. Brandon Printup.
It was on June 28th, 2022, that I took my first walk on the campus of Dutchtown High School, after I was officially named Director of Bands. I truly cannot fathom the words to describe the momentous accomplishments that we have achieved so far during my tenure. Students have always been at the forefront of my plan of action for the Sound of Dutchtown. I begin implementing and executing this plan on day one. I have gained an immeasurable amount of experience this year and it is all due to the students’ receptivity and optimism. My staff has been amazing and I would like to publicly thank them: Mr. Brandon Printup, Associate Director of Bands, Mr. Langston Whitlock, Percussion Instructor, Mrs. DeQuirria Cutts-Perry, Coordinator of Auxiliaries, Ms. Ebonee Usher, Coach of the Dutchtown Starz, and Mr. Aaron Lowe, Assistant to the Director of Bands and Drum Tech. This year would not have happened without the efforts of the aforementioned individuals We have affectionally named this year “The France Year” in recognition of the band’s major accomplishment of being selected to perform in Normandy, France for The 2023 D-Day Memorial Parade and Allied Musical Salute to the Veterans. In just under 3 weeks, the Band will represent the City of Hampton, The Henry County School District, The State of Georgia and The United States of America. It is a gargantuan accomplishment and they are to be commended respectively!
