Travel often requires a unique blend of adventuresome spirit, physical and mental alertness, and a capacity for accepting situations as they arise. AAA Group Travel understands that different people have different preferences when it comes to the pace of their travel experiences; therefore, we have developed tours with a variety of activity levels to choose from. AAA Group Travel activity levels are designed to help travelers select the pace that is right for them. Day 1 – Arrive in San Francisco and travel north into the beautiful California Wine Country. Enjoy a welcome group dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 2 – Enjoy Napa Valley with a sparkling winery tour and tasting at Gloria Ferrer, one of the many remarkable wineries of Napa. Next, visit Rutherford Ranch on the Silverado Trail. Lunch is included at the winery. Experience the famous open air Oxbow Market known for its great food, wine, and live music. After some time at your hotel to rest and freshen up, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the downtown Napa area on your own for shopping and dinner.
Day 3 – Visit the Sonoma State Historic Park and Mission San Francisco Solano, the last of the California Missions before having the opportunity to spend free time on Sonoma Plaza to explore the many shops, art galleries, wine tasting rooms, and specialty food vendors. Visit Gundlach Bundschu Winery, better known in Sonoma as “Gun Bun.” Enjoy dinner at Murphy’s Irish Pub and Restaurant in Sonoma.
Day 4 – Travel to the Francis Ford Coppola Winery in Geyserville. This beautiful estate is owned by movie director Francis Ford Coppola and his wife Eleanor who have been making wines since 1975. Your private tour includes a special Storytellers Tasting. As you return south, visit the Benziger Family Winery. Here you will be treated to a motorized tram tour of Benziger’s Sonoma Mountain Estate, stopping along the way to visit grape growing and wine making exhibits. After the tour, enjoy a special wine pairing farewell dinner at the estate.
