TOUR ITINERARY Day 1 Travel to Toronto by motorcoach, then board a flight for Yellowknife in Canada’s Northwest Territories. Day 2 After breakfast, your Arctic winter clothing package will be delivered to you at the hotel. An insulated parka, snow pants, boots, mitts, and toque will keep you warm without the need to pack bulky items from home. In the evening, you’ll gather with your group for a welcome dinner. Day 3 Visit the Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly Building and the Giant Mine site before continuing to Buffalo Airways, where vintage World War II aircraft are still in operation. The tour continues through Old Town and out onto the frozen Great Slave Lake. This evening, you’ll travel to a cozy cabin for your first Northern Lights viewing. Day 4 Take a guided snowshoeing adventure across a frozen lake, keeping an eye out for wildlife such as foxes and ptarmigans. Return to Yellowknife for lunch and some leisure time. After dinner, you’ll hear stories and learn about Indigenous traditions while watching the Northern Lights at a traditional Dene site near Dettah in heated cabins and teepees.
