Alain Enthoven ’48: Alain is living in California but visited Seattle a few years back for a class gathering. Alain says Prep did a great job preparing him for college. He went to Stanford University, then Oxford and MIT. He met his wife at Radcliffe College. They have 6 children, 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Alain would like to hear from his classmates. Contact alum@seaprep.org for Alain’s information.

LT Joe Read ’53: Joe is the last survivor and youngest of seven Read brothers who attended Prep. Joe is thankful and will one day follow in their “Panther Tracks.”

Jim Riley ’54: “The orchard halfway between the Catholic church and the old funeral home now renovated into a health club… the optimism of the young…” This is how Jim describes his seaside village of Langley, facing Camano Island and the North Cascades. Jim turned 85 in April and still remembers the adolescent joy he and classmates lived as the Class of 1954.

John Barnes ’56: John spent over five years in the Marine Corps in Aviation. He also enjoyed a 27-year career as a teacher and coach. He drove the shuttle bus for Fred Hutch for 20 years. He retired in 2013 at the age of 75.

Mick McHugh ’61: No stranger to the restaurant business, Mick has been busy overseeing the new 4,600-square-foot Kraken Bar and Grill, as part of the new Northgate Mall training facility for the Kraken hockey team. Mick ran the iconic Pioneer Square fixture, F.X. McRory’s Steak Chop and Oyster House, for 40 years. The Kraken Bar and Grill is scheduled to open mid-September.

Tom Trebon ’62: Tom has been staying healthy and enjoying Zoom ‘gatherings’ from Colorado to Maryland. Tom is continuing to run – he hopes for in-person marathons next year, but for now he will settle for virtual marathons. Tom continues to enjoy retirement. He is happy to have received two COVID-19 vaccination shots. “I can now hug my grandkids!”

Phillip Windell ’62: Phil recently retired as a Senior Program Analyst with the Office of Long-Term Living, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and moved back to Pittsburgh. Phil went to graduate school at the University of Pittsburgh, enjoys the city and has good friends there. He hopes Prep friends will look him up if they are visiting the city. Contact alum@seaprep.org for Phil’s information. Rich Hendrickson ’63: Rich recovered from a mild case of COVID-19 at the end of 2020. He has been retired for more than 10 years and felt isolated during his COVID scare. He is hopeful for 2021 and reflects on all that happened over the course of 2020: “Lives uprooted, many suffered from the plight of wildfires, a pandemic, politics and civil unrest. Video Masses morphed to online Masses to social distancing outside, and eventually returning to inside the church at 25% capacity.”

Emmett Lane ’63: Emmett retired from the Seattle Times after 52 years as a Systems Analyst.

Frederick Scheetz ’63: Fred had a chance to catch up with a couple of his classmates virtually earlier this year. Wim Alma ’63 and Fred discussed their time at Prep, their classmates, old teachers, and school traditions.

Duke Vogt ’65: Duke

and his wife, Pat celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in quarantine with a bottle of wine from

Gregory Duncan ’66: Greg is still plugging along at 74 and serving on Seattle Prep’s Board of Trustees.

Robert Hupf ’66: Bob is coaching and refereeing volleyball in Omaha after retiring from Mutual of Omaha.

Fr. Phil Boroughs, S.J. ’67: Fr. Boroughs retires this summer after nine years as President of the College of the Holy Cross, following eight years as Vice President for Mission & Ministry at Georgetown. He will be returning to the Pacific NW this fall.

John McKay ’74: John serves as President of the King County Bar Association.

Jeff Parietti ’73: Jeff shared photos of the 1972 Washington State Championship XC team and the 1973 State Cross Country state race coached by Fr. Tom D. Sullivan, S.J. with former teammates Mike Hindery ’72, Terry Leahy ’73, Jerry Mahoney ’74, Mike McCloskey ’74, Craig Parietti ’74, Mark Sullivan ’74, John Swenson ’76, and Mark Ulloa ’71. A group of Fr. Sullivan’s former athletes met in Spokane this summer to honor his 100th birthday with a memorial run from his headstone in Mount Saint Michael Cemetery.

Bridgett Chandler ’78: Bridgett earned

a Doctorate in Nursing Practice with a specialty in Family Practice and a certificate in Palliative Care from the University of Washington, the #1 program in the nation.

Mo Stich ’78: Mo retired in 2016 after 30+ years in police work. She and her husband, Michael, moved to the Lake Wenatchee/Plain area near Leavenworth. Three years later they moved to Bend, Oregon. They found part-time jobs in two antique stores, as they are avid collectors. Mo says, “Retirement is underrated; we enjoy it immensely!”

Jess Sandoval ’79: Jess lives in Montreal and is Vice-President of Finance for Hudson Mercantile Company.

Rena (Caso) Piercy ’80: Rena

and her son Ray Piercy ’24 met up with Rena’s classmates Howard Gray ’80 and Chris Dinndorf ’80 in Vail, Colorado. Christine (Leendertsen) Parks ’91: Christine ran for her local Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS)’s “Woman of the Year” in 2019, a philanthropic competition to support blood cancer research in communities across the United States. Her “Team Teeny for the Cure” raised $274,851 in 10 weeks! Christine credits her Seattle Prep and Santa Clara University Jesuit education for encouraging and educating her to be a “woman for others.” She volunteers as the “Student of the Year” Leadership Team Chair and works as a high school counselor at Marvin Ridge High School in Waxhaw, North Carolina. Christine lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband Greg Parks and two children, Jameson and Georgia.

Natasha Anderson ’92: shared her mom’s death anniversary and commitment to Prep. “My mom Tanya Anderson was an ongoing volunteer in the Prep library for over twenty years...way past my graduation. She passed away in April 2019.”

Christa (Robinson) Hurd ’99:

Christa and her husband, David Hurd, welcomed their third child, Bode Sullivan Hurd, on June 28, 2020. They are settled in Greenwich, Connecticut, but enjoy visiting Seattle as often as possible.

Conor Hansen ’01: Conor was honored in the Puget Sound Business Journal’s 40 under 40 in 2018 for his work in affordable housing development.

Michael Krueger ’01: Michael and his sister, Kate Krueger ’01, visited with Prep friends Nick Carson ’97 and Hewan Teshome ’01. Nick Fuller ’01: Nick teaches group music classes for students age 0-5 (parent participation required). Classes are taught via Zoom. Carolyn Thayer-Azoff ’05:

Carolyn’s daughter, Avery, and her doll model Prep gear before sharing it with Avery’s little brother, due later this year.

Patrick Harvey ’07: Patrick will be returning to the stage after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the closure of live performance venues for over a year. Patrick has lead roles in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Snow White in the Connecticut Shakespeare Festival’s inaugural season.

Donnelly ’08: The new parents welcomed a baby girl this year, Blaire Ross Donnelly. “There are many Panthers on both sides of the Donnelly and Corr families. Here’s hoping Blaire attends Prep one day!”

Peter Fong ’09: Peter and his wife, Hailey, welcomed their second child, Eddie, into their family. They now have a 3-year-old daughter, Zooey, and a newborn son named Eddie. Peter previously worked as the Director of Ecommerce and social media for the Utah Jazz, and started a new career in December in the home medical equipment field as the Director of Marketing and Design for Alpine Home Medical, Copper Star Home Medical, and You Can Home Medical. Peter and his family live in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Cameron Breen ’11: Cameron has been living in Frisco, Colorado since 2016 and really enjoys all of the nature and outdoor activities. He is a Program Manager for the Friends of the Dillon Ranger District. He enjoys snowboarding, rock climbing, and hiking in his free time.

James Killeen ’12: James started a new job at Fortis Mortgage Advisors. “I was brought on by fellow Prep alumnus James Rudolf ’96 who runs the company. It is an exciting opportunity. I love that I can give back to my community while working alongside a fellow Panther!”

The brothers climbed Mt. Rainer in July 2020 together and summitted successfully!

Bridget Keaton ’15: Bridget qualified

for and was accepted into the 2021 Boston Marathon. She qualified at Bellingham, in 2019, with a time of 3 hours 16 minutes placing 2nd for women overall. Bridget is excited to race in Boston (in person!) this fall on October 11, 2021. Samuel Kopf ’15: Ensign Sam Kopf graduated in 2019 from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with merit. He commissioned with Naval Special Warfare and is based in Coronado, California.

Victoria Talty ’15: Victoria and her mother, Janeth, paid a visit to Fr. Fitterer, S.J. over Memorial Weekend. Devouring shared cupcakes (a popular item with the Jesuit residents) the group enjoyed a tour of Fr. Fitterer’s residence at the Sacred Heart Jesuit Center in Los Gatos. The beautiful grounds and Grotto of the Virgin Mary were highlights. The visit was that much sweeter as Fr. Fitterer recently recovered from COVID.

Kassandra Krohn ’16: Kassandra graduated last year from Colorado State University with a major in Environmental Engineering. She works as a civil engineer on the land development team for JR Engineering in Denver. “I’m thankful to Prep instilling a passion for learning and for pushing me in math and science.”

Alex Martin ’16: Alex is working as an Investment Banking Analyst at the Industrials group at Deutsche Bank. He hopes to build a career in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) financing for renewable energy.

Ben Capeloto ’17: Ben is the Tri-

Executive (Student Body President) for the CU Student Government at the University of Colorado, Boulder where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering.

Sophia Saturnino ’18: Sophia has an internship at Vizio!

Rosa Carter ’18: Rosa Carter shared her experience studying abroad in Shanghai, China and tips on learning the language, with Xiaofeng Foster’s Chinese classes. She also talked about applying for scholarships to study abroad and how a major in marketing and a minor in Chinese will help her in the future. There was lots of Q&A!

Thomas Reuter ’18: Tom shares his

leadership and SPMT prowess with New York and Washington DC’s legal communities. Thomas recently produced research on international biosecurity readiness at Fordham Law School’s Center on National Security and studied the use of political rhetoric by lawyers during a senate impeachment trial under Professor Bruce Green at the law school’s Stein Center on Law and Ethics. This summer he will be a judicial fellow for a New York State Supreme Court Justice and continue his research comparing the UK and the US Supreme Courts before returning to Fordham as the Executive President of the United Student Government and member of the undergraduate Law Review.

The Seattle Prep Panther newspaper staff was thrilled when Michael W. O’Connell ’62 cleaned out his closet! “As a retired literature professor, I have a terrible time throwing things away. I was editor of the newspaper my senior year and my dear mother saved all my work.”

The Prep Panther archives is now home to two years of back issues and several sports photos Michael sold to The Seattle Times. The newspaper is seeking issues prior to 1966 in good condition.
