The brief set in module one required an accurate representation of a croissant. Through elevation photography and section scanning, the process provided for a one to one scale from which to draw and shade the croissant. This module was a great opening task into the semester providing for experience in the subject while also pushing technological skill in adobe products. Similarly, the use of both hatching and shading techniques provided for a sense of depth and texture within the one to one scale croissant.

The brief set in module two required a creative approach in developing an orthogonal projection of two Mario worlds. Once given two samples of world to extract, the technical drawing required process from back to front to define hidden and unobserved parts. From this final drawing required adobe development using the tone and colours accurate to the source worlds. From this detailing and texturing granted the final product.

The brief set in module three required a Tasmanian landscape to be transformed into an abstract representation through the use of 3D modelling. Through developing multiple modules then projecting them appropriately onto the surface. Following this, panelling was required to flatten sets of modules then the construction of a card model, reflecting that of the original landscape.

The brief set in module four required an abstract story to be developed into both frame and field. Exploring field required the old Melbourne quad to be recreated in 3D modelling, from this the story is developed through notation. Frame meanwhile required interior development of thvat same quad, identifying key areas of story that may clearly reflect moments of the story.

Reflection Foundations of Design: Representation required a step up in technological skill, time management and development of ideas. It tested that which I either accepted to be basic skill or that which I had no idea could impact the design and formation of a concept. Proceeding, it has taught me paramount around time management required for such tasks.

Each module tested me in different ways. Module one challenged the drawing capability which I believed to previously be lacking, however, with work and development on this module it opened my eyes to the time and effort required to produce a fine piece of work. Given more time management and another attempt the croissant could be refined even further. Module two went back to the basics of my artistic development, technical drawings are those which can easily be measured and given enough time easily perfected. However, it was the creative disposition that left a simple design in my final, requiring my prior technical knowledge to add such texturing. Module three was the toughest challenged I have faced artistically.

The use of material in the time frame became a dire issue that could only be resolved through practice. The documentation through photographs however proved to be rewarding to my work. Finally module four allowed me to return to the basics.

Using 3D modelling knowledge gained from other modules and my prior knowledge of photoshop. Both frame and field were not as technically challenging, however, creative license could have been pushed further through field especially to truly develop the imagination of the observer.
