This class introduces students to the fundamentals of Folklorico and World Dance. Students will develop essential dance techniques while learning traditional choreography from diverse cultures around the world. Designed as a progressive course, each session builds on the last to support the continued growth and confidence of movements.

In this program, your youngling will explore the galaxy with their master building skills and our intergalactically-focused curriculum. Motivated to become Jedi like the heroes in the movies, students will learn to concentrate on mastering the Force, appreciating the use of teamwork to build battle drones and AT-Walkers, and if their skills are up to par, make their very own lightsaber and use it in battle! May the force be with your young Padawan as they rise through the Jedi ranks! Our Lego® bricks sets are reused and not taken home.

The Leadership Education and Development program (LEAD) facilitates opportunities for middle school and high school students ages 12–17 years old to earn volunteer service-learning hours, develop confidence in leadership skills through a mentorship program, and learn about educational and future career opportunities. In addition to accruing community service hours needed for school, participants will develop a variety of leadership skills aimed at creating positive impacts in the Temple City Community. Throughout the course, students will develop proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing simplified Chinese characters using Pinyin. Classes will be conducted in a bilingual format utilizing both Chinese and English to enhance comprehension. STARS Club offers on-site after-school activities including homework assistance, enrichment activities, and sports/activities in a fun and well supervised environment. The program is offered at La Rosa, Longden, Cloverly, and Emperor Elementary Schools in the Temple City Unified School District (TCUSD). Care is provided for youth in grades kinder through 6th on site from school dismissal time until 6 p.m. Pre-registration is required for participation and includes care Monday-Friday during regular and minimum days.

In this camp, students dive into the exciting world of amusement parks they design and build their own mini rides! Ready to serve up some fun? Join our co-ed Volleyball League for grades 5–8 and get in the game! Players of all skill levels will learn the basics, build confidence, and improve through drills focused on serving, passing, setting, and hitting.
Practices emphasize skill development, teamwork, and game strategy, giving players plenty of reps and real-game scenarios to grow each week. Practices are held at Live Oak Park, with Saturday games at Oak Middle School Gym (6623 Oak Ave), and the program includes a t-shirt, games, practices, and a trophy to wrap up the season.

Get ready for a series of magical Family Movie Nights under the stars! Join us on Friday evenings throughout September for four special movie nights at Temple City Park. This multi-generational event is perfect for all ages, so bring your blankets, gather your loved ones, and settle in for an unforgettable evening of fun and film. Each movie night will feature a themed activity or craft beginning 45 minutes before showtime, plus some yummy snacks to enjoy during the movie! Films begin as soon as the sun sets.
Dial-A-Ride is an appointment based public transportation service for Temple City residents aged 60 years or older or for residents below the age of 60 with a disability. Dial-A-Ride will transport residents to any destination within the City or to designated locations within the cities of Arcadia, El Monte, San Gabriel and Rosemead. Dial-A-Ride also accommodates adjacent unincorporated residents, providing transportation services within Temple City boundaries only.
The City of Temple City's Youth Scholarship provides funding to income qualified families for City -sponsored programs. To see if you qualify for the program, families must complete an application, prove residency, and provide income documentation. If approved, a 50% or 75% scholarship discount will be applied toward recreation programs offered through the City of Temple City’s Parks and Recreation Department.
Temple City’s Camellia Trust Fund is available to income qualified Temple City families. Applications will be considered to meet an immediate need for children under the age of 18 for non-City sponsored programs. Yang style Tai Chi in its many variations is the most popular and widely practiced style of Tai Chi in the world today. The Beginner I class will focus on basic techniques and forms such as Yang 8, Bafawubu, and Yang 16. Beginner II will focus on Yang 16, Yang 24, and Yang 48. The intermediate class will review Yang 48, Yang 42, and 32 and 42 Sword Forms.

Chen style Tai Chi is a Northern Chinese martial art and the original form of Tai Chi. Chen style is characterized by silk reeling, alternating fast and slow motions, and bursts of power. The Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of programs and activities for the older adult population in Temple City. These programs are a great value as they are offered at no cost. Activities encourage socialization, exercise and mental stimulation for all.

Dial-A-Ride is an appointment-based ride service that provides curb-to-curb transportation service for community members 60 years and older, or under 60 years of age with a physical, psychological or developmental disability. Dial-A-Ride will transport residents to any destination within the City or to designated locations outside of the City. Dial-A-Ride also accommodates adjacent unincorporated residents, providing transportation services within Temple City boundaries only. We are now allowing same day sign-up for Dial-A-Ride (dependent on ridership volume). This service operates 7 days a week, appointments can be made up to seven days in advance and is .50 cents per ride.

As the owner of Temple City Bike Shop since 2018, Ron promotes active living by helping individuals maintain and safely enjoy their bicycles. A former professional BMX racer who transitioned into motocross, he continues to lead by example through his active lifestyle. Ron generously gives back by donating bikes to the Women’s Club and Relay for Life, and by mentoring local youth through the Boy Scouts, where he helps participants earn their bike safety badges and complete required rides.
