Each panel is made of durable metal for structural integrity and longevity, with preinstalled connectors for easier installation. On-site, mounts are attached to the building’s structural beams to support the weight and alignment of the curtain wall panels. Our curtain wall system uses prefabricated panels with integrated photovoltaic elements for energy efficiency. Pre-installed connectors ensure precise attachment to building mounts.

ENERGY EFFICIENT HOUSING Location: Moscow Type of project: Individual project Year: 2022 My bachelor’s thesis explored the design of an energy-efficient residential building with a focus on low- to mid-rise typologies suited to the climatic conditions of the Moscow region. The project aimed to integrate sustainable design strategies to optimize thermal performance and reduce energy consumption. In this portfolio, I will focus on a private residential building block as a representative case study, highlighting the key principles and methodologies applied to all buildings.

The method of using capsules of materials with a phase change state: a material with unique physical properties is included (by Phase change materials (PCMs), incorporated into structural elements capsulation, and heat microencapsulation, alloy or combination) in avia structural material. They are ableabsorb to change their phase release state at a temperature range that is comfortable for a person: from 21 °C to 26 °C, and at the same time they can store a large amount of heat. If the as they transition between solid and liquid states within a comfort range (21–26 °C). When room temperature temperature in the room reaches a certain predetermined value (for example, 23 °C), then the wax inside the capsules melts the excess heat is absorbed during the phase transition. This allows, unlike all other "passive" technologies, to stop the rises to a set point (e.g., 23 °C), the PCM melts and and absorbs excess heat, limiting temperature increases. When the room temperature drops, the wax hardens, and the capsules "give" the absorbed heat to the surrounding space. temperature drops, the material solidifies, releasing stored heat back into the space. This passive thermal regulaThe alternating sequence of melting and solidification may be due either to natural factors (eg, difference between night and day temperatures) or the use of active systems such as water heating/cooling systems, heat and energy saving systems. As tion reduces peak indoor temperature fluctuations and enhances comfort. shown in the graph below, the use of phase change materials helps to avoid "peak" diurnal temperature fluctuations, and thus provides the most comfortable indoor conditions.

MODULE HOUSE Location: Lithuania, Vilnus Type of project: Group project (competition) Year: 2019 The decision to participate in this competition was based on its relevance to my ongoing research on autonomous housing. The project involved studying the necessary equipment for a fully self-sufficient home and selecting the most suitable materials. The final selection of equipment and materials was made in accordance with the competition criteria, prioritizing simplicity and functionality. According to the competition brief, the target users are Peter and Lisa, a couple aged 30–40 with earnings slightly above average. Due to the pandemic, they seek to relocate from an apartment to a natural environment near a lake. Their housing module must not exceed 35 m², with an additional 15 m² allocated for a sauna. Peter requires a stable electricity supply for remote work, while Lisa will occasionally travel to the city. Additionally, two friends will visit them every weekend.

SAN GIOVANNI IN VAL DI LAGO Location: Val di Lago, Italy Type of project: Group project Year: 2022 Since 1994, the Via Francigena has been recognized as an international network of tourist and pilgrimage routes, retracing the medieval path across England, France, Switzerland, and Italy. San Giovanni in Val di Lago (Lake Chapel) is situated on the shores of Lake Bolsena in the northern part of the Viterbo province, marking the final stretch of the pilgrimage route to Rome. Dating back to the 16th century, the chapel holds significant historical value. Our team approached this project with a deep respect for its historical context, developing a concept that integrates modern design while preserving the site’s architectural heritage. Inspired by the structure of medieval towns that accommodated pilgrims overnight, the proposed shelter consists of separate buildings arranged around the chapel, designed for both tourists and church ministers.

The project adopts a minimalist design inspired by traditional regional dwellings. A timber framework with SIP panels ensures efficient transport and assembly, while façades of white plaster and wood blend with the landscape and emphasize the chapel’s presence. A narrow pond with greenery separates public and private zones, supporting a comfortable microclimate. In response to growing accessibility demands, the layout includes apartments for people with disabilities, in line with plans to adapt the pilgrimage route. New buildings are arranged along the site’s perimeter to preserve the historic view and maintain the chapel as the central focus.

Portfolio | Anastasiia Berseneva AXONOMETRY OF THE CHAPEL
The load from the expansion of the dome is partially redistributed to the wooden supporting structure. Thus, a predominantly the load acts on the walls vertically.
The dome is made of translucent concrete LiTraCon. That allows you to receive diffused light indoors during the daytime, and makes the chapel a luminous beacon that attracts all believers at night.
We propose to close the open opening in the wall from the inside of the chapel in such a way as to preserve the historical fact of its existence from the outside, and from the inside emphasize the modern intervention by painting it white.

Chapel The design features a timber framework enclosing a translucent LiTraCon dome with an oculus, referencing medieval scaffolding and evoking the lost form of the original chapel. Materials align with surrounding buildings, aiming to create not an object, but the impression of one. The materials harmonize with the surrounding buildings, aiming not to create a singular object, but the impression of one. Resembling a lighthouse, the new chapel symbolically guides pilgrims to refuge, offering a space for both physical and spiritual rest.
