WHILE HOTEL DROP-OFF IS DIVERTED TO THE SOUTH-EAST SIDE.
PREVAILING WINDS: ACCESS/ PUBLIC TRANSPORT: STRONGEST WINDS APPROACH THE SITE FROM THE NORTH-WEST (SUMMER). SOUTH-EASTERN WINDS ARE MILDER AND COOLER.
SITE IS ACCESSIBLE THROUGH TRAM LINES (SPRING ST.), TRAIN STATIONS, AS WELL AS BUS ROUTES FROM LONSDALE ST., BENEFICIAL TO OFFICE-WORKER COMMUTES.
MOST BUILDINGS ALONG THE SAME BLOCK RANGE FROM 5 TO 30M TALL, WITH SOME AT UPWARDS OF 190M (NORTHERN ADJACENCY). THE EAST IS CLEAR OF TALL BUILDINGS AND GIVES OPPORTUNITY FOR NATURAL LIGHT AND VIEWS.

METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPRESS THE MONOLITHIC NATURE OF THE CONCEPT.
LOAD TRANSFER STARTS AT THE CROWN, WHICH IS COMPOSED OF A LIGHTWEIGHT STEEL STRUCTURAL TRUSS. CONCRETE COLUMNS DESCEND DOWN INTO AN OUT-TAPER OF THE BUILDING FORM, WHILE BEING SUPPORTED BY MORE OUTRIGGER TRUSSES AS WELL AS DIAGONAL TRANSFER COLUMNS.
ADDITIONALLY, THIS STRUCTURE OFFERS AN OPPORTUNITY TO CLAD THE THE EXPRESSED CONCRETE ELEMENTS AS ORNAMENTATION IS CONSIDERED.
