Our five-week summer program offers a unique blend of innovative classroom learning with opportunities for first-hand experiences at America's premier historic landmarks in Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

The Academy is designed for highly motivated rising 10th, 11th and 12th graders. With enrollment limited to just 100 students, our program yields an exceptional group of scholars who are enthusiastic about learning.

STUDENT LIFE

THE ACADEMY'S HOME BASE IS THE FOXCROFT SCHOOL The Campus Foxcroft is a premier student-centered private secondary school campus in a safe and secure environment, with modern residence halls, classrooms, athletic facilities, and dining hall. The campus is conveniently located within a three-hour drive of all the important historic sites that the students will visit.

Dorm Life Foxcroft has five dormitories that each house between 20 – 45 students. Dormitories are separated by gender and students will live with 1, 2 or 3 roommate(s). The Academy's student/teacher ratio in the dorms is an extraordinary 6:1, with Dorm Teams comprised of teaching staff and counselors managing residential life and daily happenings.

On the Road On overnight trips, students stay at hotels.

Transportation to all sites is provided by coach buses. Each bus has an instructor and two counselors on board, in addition to the driver.

Dining The Academy is committed to delivering a healthy, delicious menu with options to satisfy even the pickiest eater. On days at Foxcroft, all meals are held in the Dining Hall. During field trips, students will enjoy a boxed lunch. Students will be able to select from a variety of options, so accommodating food allergies, vegetarians, and most other dietary restrictions can be arranged.

Recreation When not exploring the foundations of American history, students can choose from a wide variety of activities to relax and enjoy the summer. The pool is open from 1 pm to 6 pm every day, movie nights will be a regular occurrence, and tennis matches, softball games, and ping pong tournaments will add a bit of friendly competition!

Students may also have the opportunity to take in a baseball game or other American pastimes on the weekends.
