Dante Rivera, The Bullying

The Bullying by Dante Rivera

i was sitting in class in the 5th grade, and this kid was calling me fat and ugly and many other names . I don’t remember exactly what he looked like, but I do remember he had a buzz cut . He was Dominican or Hispanic . I was overweight, but that didn’t give him the right to make fun of me .

He did this almost every day, and one day I just got up, my fist went into a ball, and I punched him in the face . I wasn’t thinking anything . I think when I get mad, I just do stuff . The classroom smelled like feet and farts .

The class started yelling, “Oooooooooo,” and then the teachers came in and stopped the fight . The teachers took him away . And later he said the punch hurt him, and he never did it again . Looking back, I’m happy I did it because it made me a little cocky .
