Betrayal

Betrayal by Adriana Ramirez, age 10

I’m sitting down and everything is silent. “Being at the top row is boring,” I say. My friends laugh. All of a sudden the lights go off and then back on. “That was weird,” I say, looking at my best friend, Zuhro. She looks to the stage “Dead”. When I turn to see, I screech in fear, “Denis, Mustafa, Veta, Ashly, everyone is…Dead.” I mutter. Then all of a sudden, everyone wakes up and starts attacking each other. Me and Zuhro get up and sprint towards the doors when we hear a faint, “Help me…Help please, Help me!” “Run!” I yelled. As we made it out of the auditorium, we blocked the doors behind us, but that wasn’t enough to withhold those things. But still it wasn’t over. We ran for our lives. It was then that I had a flashback of my family. “Wake up,” Zuhro whispered. “What happened?” I asked. “We were running and you passed out and I screamed for help and don’t be mad, but just as I was about to leave you, the principal came and dragged us inside his office.” And before he said anything, I turned to Zuhro and yelled, “How dare you almost leave me!” “Sorry,” she replied. Me and Zuhro sat in fear, but when it went silent, he opened the door and with a calm voice he said, “Goodnight, girls.”
