Ghettos and Concentration camps

Ghettos When Germans invaded towns they would take healthy kids and adults from their homes and take them away on trains. Germans would build a wall around the city to keep the Jews from getting away and make all non-Jews leave. If you weren’t Jewish, then they thought you were German. “German police soon forced tens of thousands of Polish Jews from their homes and into ghettos.” (From History.com.)

Concentration Camps were where Nazis sent captured Jews to work and build more barracks for more prisoners. Nazis would kill prisoners as if it were a game to them. Concentration camps were prisons for Jews. The prisoners had to do hard labor and the weak were most likely killed or died from starvation. Some concentration camps had gas chambers. Nazis would put big groups of people into the chambers and the poison gas Zyklon-B would kill them.

Sometimes Nazis would bring prisoners to the Nazis’ doctor and they would perform cruel medical experiments. Many prisoners died from those experiments. “Auschwitz facilities, could hold some 90,000 prisoners. This chart shows how many people died during the Holocaust. The chart also displays how many people died in a religion. During the Holocaust, Polish Jews were majority of the Jews that got killed by the Nazis.
