World War 1 World war 1 was a time of death and destruction.It happened in June 28, 1914 - November 11, 1918 it started after the assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand. World war 1 was a bad part of history, because it lead to the equalities and the differences of men and women, also more dangerous weapons were created, and the amount of lives lost during the war.
Women's Equal Pay When the men came back from war the women either worked beside them and got lower wages or they didn’t work at all. Before the war ended many women did not accept the lower wages for almost the exact work the men did. Though they did not get as much money as men they still could decide to work beside them when they came back from war.“In France, in 1917, women initiated strikes over low wages, seven day weeks and the continuing war.”With the war continuing more strikes happened not just in France. The Defense of the War The French used many guns but the one that was used more was the pistol revolver that was made in 1892. But the primary rifle they used was the 1886 m93 lebel bolt action rifle. As it states in History of american wars. “The Lebel rifle was standard issue for the French infantry. Reported as slow to load and difficult to adjust sights, but with a large magazine capacity and 8mm round.” The longer barrel was for when they lined up in two lines and when they shot so they wouldn’t shoot the person in front of them. The also thought the longer barrel gave them better accuracy.

Pistol revolver The pistols were mostly used for personal defense when the rifles were used more for killing. The pistol they used was both single and double actioned. The single action was when they had to fire quickly and the double action would have been used if they had time.

The Casualties of World War 1 World war 1 was very terrible because of all the deaths that happened during it. Depending on the sites you use the number of people dead vary. There was a total of 8,397,822 civilian casualties. The most amount of deaths that they could find and take record of was 1,700,000 in Russia and Germany. The least amount of deaths happened in Japan with 300 left dead.

The total amount of people wounded for civilians 20,907,200 the most amount of people wounded was 4,900,000 in Russia and the least amount of people injured Number of people in the country was 900 in wounded in each country Japan. The highest amount of military deaths that happened was in Germany and it was 2.1 million military personnel Number of people killed per dead. countries
The Great War Time of Death and Destruction With all that was happening during the “Great War� with the equalities of women and men, aldo with the amount of new dangerous weapons they were using, and finally with the amount of deaths that happened.
