PROLOGUE

I hope you can build something upon them. ——Romain Rolland I have been studying in different cities and exposed to various people in the society. Each of them lives in their own way. When I tried to understand and helped those who faced various problems in real life, I found that humanistic feelings cannot have effective impact on people's lives in the real world without materialized carrier.

First, there should be a balance between occupation and work and personal life. Architectural design can give more meaning to the professional life of the owner. In addition to life security, professional life can also be in poetic style, life and work are also the process of self-shaping and spiritual enjoyment, and architectural design can explore how to achieve such a space.

Secondly, the intervention of architecture should pay attention to the marginal groups and resolve the contradictions between different groups in the society.

Reasonable building design can help vulnerable people. The improvement in the quality of life helps to enhance their sense of happiness and dignity, and makes people's relationships more harmonious.

Third, the attraction of the building is not only reflected in its appearance. The building can be a carpet covering the site. Buildings do not block sight and roads, but remove barriers to people's communication.

Fourth, the building can be freely assembled, but this characteristic is to ensure the quality of life when people use this building. In the face of the crowded cities and dwellings in Eastern Asia, this kind of exploration seems particularly meaningful.

In addition, research on building materials is also very important. Building materials are the material basis of the building composition. Only when there is a sufficient understanding of the use of building materials can there be more possibilities to promote the development of buildings.

01 Porcelain Handicraft Workshop Location: Lishui,China Design Date: From October 2019 To December 2019 Academic & Individual Work Advisor: Zhangzheng Yang Email: 1071734735@qq.com

Longquan Kiln is a famous kiln in Chinese history and one of the five major kiln systems in the Song Dynasty. Founded in Jin Dynasty, it has a history of more than 2,000 years and is the longest porcelain kiln in the history of Chinese porcelain making.

The celadon fired in the ancient kiln of Longyao is different from modern industrial products in that the glaze color is often thicker and more delicate in details. Compared with the same industrial production, there are more surprises.

With the urbanization and industrialization, the traditional firing method is gradually abandoned, and this craft is facing the risk of loss.

Zhang Xi is a porcelain craftsman. In 1988, at the age of 17, he graduated from school and began to learn the traditional celadon making process with his grandfather. Today, he is one of the few craftsmen who insists on the use of traditional methods for firing porcelain. Zhang Ye, together with a few apprentices, is rooted in the hometown of Longyao celadon, and stands alone among the banks of a river in the Piyun Mountains in Zhejiang Province.

‘Accompany Us Studying’ refers to the phenomenon that Chinese parents give up their work and home life to take care of their children when they are approaching the college entrance examination.Maotanchang Middle School is one of the largest middle schools in China. It is located in a small city called Maotanchang in Lu'an, Anhui. Of over 60,000 people living in this small city, more than half are middle school students and accompanying parents.

Due to the strict time management of Maotanchang Middle School and the urgent time for meals, and parents want to let their children eat their own meals to ensure the nutrition of their children. "Food delivery" landscape. During the daily dining time, the school entrance became a huge public cafeteria, but their dining conditions were really simple, and there were no facilities for sheltering from wind and rain on the venue.

According to the concept of time conversion in the site, the streets in the site are first treated as pedestrian streets through site design and road planning, that is, different flow characteristics at different times of the day, and variable structures are designed to serve students, parents and Vendor. East Asia is one of the most densely populated areas in the world, and there are a large number of urban areas formed at the end of the last century in these areas.

Although there is a lot of demand for additional space in these areas, traditional large-scale construction equipment is also difficult to implement in the site.

Therefore, it is necessary to explore an easy-to-install and change construction method to enter new vitality for the old city.

In 1948, architect Le Corbusier published one of his most famous works, Modularity, to study the appropriate spatial scales that people use daily. Therefore, we can use a cubic space as the basis modulus to make changes and combinations to add more feasibility and possibility for the placement of different functions on the site.

It is difficult to achieve large-scale reconstruction in the low-density old town. Assembly Of Building Modules On Site According To Different Requirements

The site is a roof area in front of Kokura Station, which is a low-density urban area, which can be placed in a grid for modular construction.

After examining the load-bearing capacity and construction conditions of the viaduct, if you want to put more indoor space with minimal disturbance to the site, you can place a small module on the working surface.

The volume is extended, and the space node is designed. The space node becomes a space for people to rest and serves a large number of people from the urban light rail to the train station.

At the end of the streamline near the station, a layer of public space with rich functions is created for the waiting people, and shopping, dining and other functions are incorporated to serve the rushing people in the city.

The building consists of building modules with a modulus of 3m, and the specific functions are determined according to the flow of people's actions. Near the Kokura Station, the most densely populated location will design a comprehensive shopping mall to serve the pedestrian flow on the station square. The location of some terraces and split floors creates rich courtyards. At the same time, the green facades are shaped by the arrangement of green plants.

The Building Connects The External Environment With Kokura Station

The extended buildings are connected to each other, forming a space to form two floors above and below. The interior space on the upper floor connects the surrounding buildings, allowing each other's functions to penetrate into each other.

The space on the lower level is formed by the shading of the buildings on the upper level, covering the path of the outside crowd entering the station, sheltering people from the wind and rain and increasing the affinity of the city.

05 Other Works 01 ASCE COMPETITION CONCRETE CANOE DESIGN The ASCE American Concrete Canoe Competition is a world-renowned engineering competition for undergraduate students worldwide, and Tongji University is the first school in China to participate in the ASCE Concrete Canoe Competition. As the main member of the concrete canoe team of Tongji University, I was responsible for the design of the concrete canoe that entered the United States in 2018 and participated in the construction process. The entire project took two years, costing $ 4,000 in production costs and $ 12,000 in transportation costs.

We independently designed the proportion of lightweight concrete suitable for making light boats in accordance with the American ASTM construction specifications, and used this independently developed material to manually complete the entire light boat and ship it to the United States for racing. In 2018, we went to the United States to compete, and won the championship in the Central Pacific Division and the fourth place in the national competition.

Introduction to The Manual Construction Process 1.Mold Construction

Steel frames and strings installed to support the mold and pre-stress system.

The female mold was assembled and fixed on the workbench.

The letters for canoe name were glued on the mold.

TPE sheets were pre-cut and placed on the canoe in order to cast the first layer per the aesthetics scheme

TPE sheets were removed to place out mix of another color.

The second layer of concrete was packed while the first layer continued to be placed.

Outer mix was placed at the third layer as structural mix, saving extra time for aesthetics.

Proper mold release agent and adhesive tape facilitated the removal process and protected the mold.

The team sanded the exterior surface with sand paper from 80-grid to 1500grid.

Two coats of sealer were applied in order to protect the final product from water penetration.

2.Canoe Construction

The first layer of concrete was placed.

TPE sheets were used to provide guidance for thickness control.

3.Finishing Techniques

Two humidifiers were placed to keep high humidity in the homothermal curing chamber.

During my internship at Tongji Architectural Design and Research Institute, I completed the graduation design with the full-course design of the internship project as the subject of the instructor's request, and produced a full set of drawings with excellent results. The design considered mechanical analysis, structural construction, seismic design and reinforcement design. This building project is located on the Jiading campus of Tongji University in Shanghai and is under construction.
