Alaska Rock Gym Climbing Camps for Kids
Climbing and activity camps for kids run weekly through the summer months. Appropriate for kids 5 to 13 years. Through learning to climb, kids increase personal fitness, gain confidence and have lots of fun. Repeat campers work on a more advanced skill progression and technical problems. Low instructor-to-student ratio and a fast paced tempo keep kids active and engaged for the entire two hours.

This program is perfect for adults who are new to tennis or re-entering the game. RCCA Summer Fun Club
Come and join us for a fun-filled summer! Children go on field trips to local areas of interest, such as: the Alaska Zoo, the Imaginarium, Loussac Library and local parks and businesses. All children go on at least two off-campus trips per week - one walking trip and one bus trip. Children have bike day once a week, ages 5-9 practice skills on campus while those ages 10-12 bike off campus. When not “field tripping” or biking, children participate in a myriad of activities such as: cooking, science, arts and crafts, gym/outdoor games, nature walks and time to just be a kid. Our staff is experienced, energetic and creative. They receive over 30 hours of training. We look forward to a fantastic summer with your child :)

Daily, kids will engage in handson games and activities, explore the amazing views and wildlife within Resurrection Bay, have a snack and tour the Alaska SeaLife Center. Ages 8+ Must weigh 80lbs to participate in the zipline course
Sample Schedule: Small groups of 5-7 youth, divided by age, to one leader will be participating in daily activities. The order of these will be different for each group.
Day 1: Horseback Adventure - Start your day bringing your horse in from pasture. Groom, saddle and pack your day bags for a long ride from our ranch through the Red Mountain foothills. Stop for lunch before you return to tack down and turn out your horse.
Day 2: Craftsmanship - Spend the day at the original Red Barn working on different ranch projects for our smaller farm animals. We will also be completing a project that takes me back to my youth as I still treasure it today!
Day 3: Zipline and Pond PlayTake flight on our tandem 10 tower zipline course. Spend the rest of the day paddling the pond and exploring the salmon creek area.
Day 4: Ridge Riders Geocaching - Dig back to your roots and use your decoding and map reading skills to find the hidden treasures. Lunch at the Ridge Rider base camp with games and activities. Be prepared with appropriate gear and lunch, snacks and water bottles. If your child is not yet 80lbs, they will only zip the first part of the course. An alternative activity may be supplied in place of ziplining. No adjustments will be made to price. We are committed to having a fun experience that is full of challenge and learning. Our goal is to inspire confidence while problem solving and learning our role with nature. Stewardship and care of land is an important value in our program. Led by experienced instructors with special guest drop-ins, campers learn more advanced riding and racing techniques, navigating different sized drops and jumps with air bag jumping access. Each week will end with a fun downhill timed race where riders compete against themselves for cool prizes. During Gravity Camp the lifts will begin running at 10:30 am. for campers. All Aboard!
At The Great Jungle Journey, kids will board our jungle cruise and explore the biblical answers to hard questions as they set off on an epic adventure. Did God really create everything? Why do bad things happen? Was Noah’s ark real? Why do I need to be saved? Can I trust the Bible?
Kids will discover how the answers to these questions shape our world, and they will learn to reconnect the Bible to their everyday life.
Each day begins at the Jungle Jam and then we’re off to rotations: Bible lessons, music, recreation, crafts and more!

Solid Rock Bible Camp
Since 1958, Solid Rock Bible Camp has provided the youth of Alaska with outdoor experiences to encourage a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Located on the central Kenai Peninsula on nearly 200 acres surrounding Miracle Lake, Solid Rock creates an environment that removes the distractions and expectations of everyday life and allows kids to explore decisions, friendships and faith in an environment that encourages connection and learning. Through camp activities and traditions, kids have the opportunity to test their limits, overcome challenges and build healthy relationships with peers and positive role models.
Lakeside: a dynamic, fast paced environment that fosters individual and team skills through all the best summer camp activities.
Wagon Train: live in an old west town and build horseback riding and outdoor skills with small group activities. Certified horsemanship instructors provide several hours of horse lessons daily.
Wilderness: adventure with experienced guides, hiking and canoeing the trails, lakes and rivers of the Kenai backcountry.
Baha’i Summer Camp
A camp in nature for 30 youth who will gain skills and strengthen relationships that will assist them in contributing to the well-being of themselves and their home communities. Time is balanced between:
- Healthy Recreation and Friendship-Building, e.g. swimming, hiking, team-building games, nature walking - Creative Endeavors, e.g. painting, storytelling, drama, singing - Spiritual Practices, meditation, personal prayer and reflection - Skill-Building, e.g., meditation, yoga, outdoor recreation skills, personal financial management - Facilitated Study of materials based on moral and spiritual concepts common to most faith traditions, and talk about how to navigate a complex world, resist negative forces in our lives and promote social progress.
If it is your first time attending one of our camps, we ask that you please attend one or two youth group gatherings ahead of the camp to initiate great relationships with other campers.

Turnagain Ceramics Clay Camp Students
are immersed in the world of clay one week at a time at Turnagain Ceramic’s well equipped, welcoming and safe ceramics studio space.
Guided by experienced instructors, summer camp students learn both hand building and wheel throwing techniques while producing one-of-a-kind pieces of art, such as sculptures and figurines, planters, mugs and bowls.
The camp is designed for students to attend for one week or several weeks, depending on interests and availability.

Understanding the Human Figure Through Drawing and Clothing Adornment
This summer camp will be a split day of figure drawing and clothing making. With an intensive focus on learning the shape and form of the human body, students will practice depicting the figure and then sew and shape cloth to adorn the figure. Lessons will include: proportions of the body, gesture drawing, contour, foreshortening, perspective and shading. There will be lessons in different embroidery stitches, basic alterations and applique techniques.

TikTok Hip Hop Camp
Channel your inner TikTok dance celeb in this unique summer camp that goes beyond your average dance class. Students will learn the most popular dances from TikTok while also learning hip hop, jazz and tumbling technique, participate in daily arts and crafts and be provided with a healthy snack. This program also includes two sessions of climbing at the Rock Gym! By the end of the week, they will take their favorite TikTok moves and shape them into a full-on dance performance, that will surely go viral.

Alaska String Camps
Come join the fun at Alaska String Camps! There will be large group orchestra rehearsals, small group lessons, varied musical classes and a wide variety of recreational activities such as games, skits, campfires, swimming, boating and more! Campers stay overnight in rustic, chaperoned cabins. Meals focus on nutritious food that young people enjoy. At the end of camp, campers perform a wonderful concert for families, sharing what they have learned.

AJW 2024 Creative Music
Camp
Join Alaska Master Jazz Artists John Damberg, Nick Petumenos, Mark Manners and Jacques Annandale and special guest artist Jeff Sizer - Seattle-based jazz trombonist, pianist, composer and educator - for an unforgettable fun musical experience stretching your creative music skills through the exploration of jazz improvisation in small 5-8 piece combos. Grade 7 through 12 instrumental and vocal music students explore the exciting world of music improvisation over hot swing, blues, funk and Latin grooves. Beginning to advanced level ensembles are offered. Students receive 25 hours of instruction in small combo settings of 5-7 members, building their song repertoire, improvisation, music theory, performance, communication and teaming skills. The camp concludes with two exciting concerts featuring the AJW Faculty Jazz Ensemble on Friday and the Student Jazz Combos on Saturday night. Registration deadline is July 12, 2024.
