Into The Fire

The project is to construct an observatory in a volcano landscape to best blend in and have a great view of the whole environment. The first stage is to go to the field service and try to feel the atmosphere and choose the best spot as the base. Follow the first stage is to draw a series of paintings best express the feeling the the the environment to make the observatory best blend in. The final step is to finish the design that can fulfill all the requirements.

Base one is the atmosphere the base created. Using the color lump collages to create the feeling in the opinion that can best express the atmosphere.

Final concept and Proposals

Based on the final concepts to propose a series of schemes best create the feeling of loneliness. Moreover, the design can provide a great view to observe the base and the volcano itself. At the same time, not to destroy the view itself. Therefore, the proposals of the project should be better blended in with the view and best observe the whole base.

The site plan shows that the terrain of the base is like a basin. The slopes surround flat ground. Therefore, the best spot the gets the view to the whole sight is on the hill. Thus, the structure is embedded into the slope to make it possible to be built on the spot.

The observatory provides a base to those who want to study and research the volcano landscape and provides them a place to stay overnight. Therefore, it must have the functions that can fulfill the needs.
