New Way of Life in Old City

From Architecture to Arts

This library base is located in Caracas venezuela in the southwest mountainous area within a slum.As demand for living space extremely parasitic build diffusion phenomenon caused by extreme regions.

In considering the parasitic, will reading space and traffic space overlap, makes every effort to study in built at the beginning of the function as the regional demand for transportation will not be easily replaced and digestion. More hope through control and relief for parasitic architectural phenomena, make shelf parasitic body new retaining structure, so as to be read into real life. And resource sharing of slum life quality guarantee access to books on shelves,namely, palisade structure privacy caused the acceptance of the changes. The buildings in the process of development, is controlled by the initial reading function not to be, to the construction of the spontaneity and achieve the ultimate goal of living with books. Main Traffic Flow Line Two Level Traffic Flow Vline Construction routes set-up: in consideration of that the original base is a ramp, therefore we take advantage of the hill's nature curve and connect buildings' routes at different height together.

Construction layout: following scheduled routes, set up construction around original architecture, to protect the core of the original architecture and to preserve local people's nature lifestyle.

In the case of satisfying the equilibrium of the structure, the structure of the structure is roughly in line with the size of the original building.

Library routes with bookshelves along sides, combined with local geographic feature and original buildings' characters, make sure that reading function will be well protected even when parasitism activities invade. Recall the past: slightly Green Willow, amidst the shady South, there was powder wall Daiwa town. Winding Lane, stone steps at the end, is the misty lake. Wind passes by, the remaining being the moist cheeks,and the laughter of children.

Dream about the future: this design is intended to solve the problems of urban villages (modern cities surrounded by group of traditional houses, sea, hot-summer and coldwinter areas) with no places for elderly and children leisure activities, hoping to build sets of entertainment equipments shared by senior and children. A modern sense of streamlines styling echoed with city modern digital of design, combined with envisaged waves rippling, curved roofs and mountains appeared in Chinese traditional landscape drawings. Through these up-and-down shapes, hoping to draw back those sealed memories of old town; traditional house space transform into spacious public activities space, steel + anti-corrosion wood structure, combined with these elements, not only created a visual focus, but also attract attention of old street lanes.

Therefore, both urban development or the development of university are with the original rural conflict.

As we know,this is a multiversity.

However, we decided to build a building complex.It combined educative and agricultural experimental functions in it.First of all, we picked out the original texture patterns of courtyard spaces in villages at the edge of Lan Zhou.

Then we modulized them and arranged various functions in it reasonably.After that we interfered and broke the modules through imitating the free layout of the villages.Then we arranged transportation and connection spaces among the intervals of modules.In this way we try to converse from the preciseness of universities to the freedom of villages.
