What's Your Utopia?

With the memory of the era, the factory built in the 1950s needs to be transformed into a housing and office complex. A group of young entrepreneurs with the yearning for a utopian life hope to work here happily and enjoythefreedomoflife. In the factory where the structures create a sense imprisonment, how to liberate the factory and make it a perfect combination of life and work has become the key point of the design. The working area, living area, buffer area and entertainment areas are interwoven wi three- dimensional dots, lines and planes respectiv expressingtheyoungpeople'sexpectation.

The best way to experience local culture is often to receiv

both visual and auditory stimuli simultaneously. An impressiv

cultural experience often requires an emotional resonance th toucheshumannature, givinganimmersiveexperience.Pingtan Museum, as a museum that inherits sound culture, is located

in a district rich in cultural relics. It not only forms a su

harmony with traditional architecture, but also forms a dialogu relationship with Suzhou Museum. The museum's eternal goal is that the art of sound is preserved in a modern and widely disseminatedform, andisperceivedandunderstoodbypeople.

PINGTAN CULTURE Pinghua, storytelling in a local dialect, and Tanci, storytelling to the accompaniment of stringed instruments are two different genres of performing arts. The populace always call them with Pintan for short. The form of stage performance is mainly divided by the number of performers.

GENERATION

After dismantling the abandoned and poorly-preserved residential buildings in the site, the focus is on retaining the former celebrity residences and garden museums.

SITE ANALYSIS

The base is located in Gusu District, Suz h ou City, J i angsu Province, China, which has abundant tourism resources. The site is located at the intersection of three major attractions. The number of daily visitors is high, but the cultural content displayed in each garden is similar and repetitive. There is no stage for a very representative sound culture in Suzhou culture.

The new museum should fully consider the impact of the surrounding environment and respect the existing urban context. At the same time, the appearance presented at important urban streets should not depart from the traditional architectural vocabulary. 9

STAGE FORM The ancient stage is a microcosm of Chinese opera culture, but also a side portrayalofancientsecularlife.AsapopularformofoperainJiangsu,Zhejiangand Shanghai, Pingtan performance has gradually identified 5 main stage forms in the courseofdevelopmentovertheyears.

The spatial language of these five typical traditional stages should be extracted, and the essence of the relationship model between "sound" and "image" should be retained.

From tradition to morden The corresponding five modern stage are abstracted through modern translation and placed in different locations in the These museum. stages gave full play to their own characteristics and demonstrated the history and modern development of Pingtanculture.

'Healinginthevoid'

This is a story of healing in the city. Through the interpretation of the urban fabric and the surrounding site, we use viod as the design umbrella for the project. By extracting the geometric forms and redefining the thematic functions, it is hoped that the project will generate new vitality for the peripheral high density and desperately demanding to free up the spaces in densely populated zones. In parallel, the site-wide linear park is linked to the overall urban green system, offering a vision of the future growth of the city''s communal fabric. The museum is a structural skeleton that engages in dialogue with the original blocks and echoes the neighbourhood in the form of a floating container. The studio adopts a co-working and co-living development model, all interlinked as a whole through courtyards. In future, we hope that this district would bring a unique warmth and spiritual care to the people in the urban expansion.

Such an urban concept has been implemented in almost all parts of Barcelona, but where La Sagrera linear park passes, an area se years of gentrification has not kept pace with the city' s evolution. In reading up on the city of Barcelona, apart from the imprint Cerdá project, the slow-forming urban identity is equally noteworthy.
