Happy 78th Birthday, Israel!
The Israeli Declaration of Independence was proclaimed on May 14, 1948, by David Ben-Gurion in Tel Aviv, establishing the modern State of Israel. It marked the end of the British Mandate and the fulfillment of a long-held hope for a Jewish homeland, rooted in both history and biblical promise. The declaration reflects the deep connection of the Jewish people to the land of Israel—often referenced in Scripture as the land given to Abraham and his descendants (Genesis 12:7). It also affirms principles of freedom and equality while calling for peace, echoing the enduringbiblical theme of restoration and return.
Dear theDove Friend,
From Perry’s Pen
Let God Use You!
God is able to do great things as His power works through you.
It’s not just about God doing things for you; He also wants to do things through you.
What do Billy Graham, Campus Crusade founder Bill Bright, Young Life founder Jim Rayburn, and The Navigators founder Dawson Trotman have in common? A Sunday school teacher named Henrietta Mears. She faithfully taught at First Presbyterian Church in Hollywood, California, eventually attracting 6,500 students. She devoted herself to building a cradle-to-grave Sunday school and even started Gospel Light publishing. The ministries of Graham, Bright, and Rayburn have touched thousands, proof that one faithful life can ripple outward.
You may not influence thousands, but you may influence one person who ends up impacting many others. Andrew, one of the twelve disciples, did just that—he brought his brother Peter to Jesus, and Peter went on to lead countless others to Him. You, too, can make a difference simply by making yourself available to God.
Because of your prayers and faithful support of this unique media ministry, countless people are being reached each day. Your partnership is making a real and lasting difference, and we hope you enjoy updates from the various departments within theDove.
Thank you for standing with us and enjoy this wonderful season!
Perry Atkinson, President/CEO theDove Media, Inc.

Marketing Minute
Hello, Wonderful People
Spring is in full swing, and May and June are bringing so much to celebrate here at theDove! From flowers in bloom to longer, sunnier days, it’s a wonderful time to reflect on blessings, community, and faith.
Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and as a mother of two amazing daughters, I feel especially grateful for the everyday moments of love, laughter, and lessons shared. Father’s Day follows soon after; a perfect time to honor the dads who guide, protect, and encourage us. We also pause together on National Day of Prayer to lift up our nation, remember and honor the courageous heroes of Memorial Day, and celebrate our flag on Flag Day, symbols of freedom and unity that inspire us every day.
On the media front, we are thrilled by the incredible response to our new in-house TV shows. The Studio Insider continues to connect with viewers, and our newest show, The Ancient Church, is already sparking excitement and conversation - don’t miss it! Each program is created to encourage, inspire, and share the Good News in a way that feels personal and uplifting.
As we head into the sunny days of summer, I hope this season brings you moments of joy, laughter, and meaningful connection with family, friends, and faith. Thank you for beng a part of theDove family and for supporting our mission to bring hope, encouragement, and faith into homes every day.
With warm blessings,
Melinda Robertson, Director of Marketing & Development theDove Media, Inc.

Time To Plant Seeds
As spring arrives, I’ve been thinking about gardening—planting seeds and the ways they grow in our lives. God’s seeds bring life, beauty, and nourishment; something so simple can create something so powerful.
Galatians 6:9 reminds us, “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Each day, seeds are planted through theDove—whether a morning broadcast that encourages someone, a message that speaks truth in a moment of doubt, or seeds planted in hearts we may never hear from—but God sees every one.
A viewer recently shared that theDove had become their only source of spiritual encouragement during a difficult season. What began as “turning on the TV” became a daily reminder of God’s love. That’s ministry—it’s planting seeds, and God brings the growth.
Jesus often spoke of seeds, reminding us that while we plant and water, God gives the increase. That’s also true for businesses and partners who share their message through theDove. You’re planting seeds of trust, hope, and connection in hearts already nurtured by faith.
Whether you watch, listen, pray, give, or partner—you are planting seeds of truth, hope, and God’s love. Thank you for being part of this mission.
May God richly bless you,
Tammy Cordonier, General Partnership & Sales Manager theDove Media, Inc.

What’s something people might be surprised to learn about your role?
How many programs, liners, and spots we go through on a weekly basis. It takes a lot of content to keep a radio station new and fresh every day. Filtering out the bad content is even harder.
What’s something that happens behind the scenes that viewers would never expect?
How transitory broadcast is. If you make a mistake, it’s gone. You have to get over it and keep going. If you do something you think is pretty good... well, it’s gone forever, too, and maybe nobody heard it.
What’s quirky or fun about you that your coworkers know?
This is an awkward question to have to answer about myself, so I asked my coworkers, and they said I have a dry sense of humor. I say, better dry than loud.
If your life had a theme song, what would it be?
Whatever plays right before everything goes wrong.
What’s a hidden talent you have?
I’m a pretty good short order cook.
What’s a moment at theDove that made you think, “This is why I’m here”?
I wish I could tell you a story of something I did that changed a person’s life, but honestly we rarely, if ever, hear those stories. Instead, I will tell you theDove and its people have been with me personally for many years, through the biggest ups and downs of my life, stood over me in prayer, and counseled me during the most significant moments of my life. That’s not just something you get at a place where you put in your eight hours and are done... and it’s not something you forget.

Fresh Strawberry Pie Recipe
Recipe from Rachel Quezada and Betty Frances (1970’s)
Submitted by Peggy Atkinson
Ingredients:
• One 9 inch baked pie shell
• 2 pints fresh strawberries washed and sliced or left whole (Save one strawberry with a green stem for the top of the pie)
• 1 cup sugar
• 3 tablespoons cornstarch
• 1 cup water
• 3 tablespoons strawberry Jello
Directions:
Cook on top of stove, add water, sugar and cornstarch then slowly stir until it all dissolves and thickens - it should be clear.
Add 3 tablespoons strawberry Jello when mixture thickens.
Carefully add the fresh berries to the mixture and coat all strawberries; pour into the baked pie shell, add the last perfect strawberry with the stem on top and chill at least 3 hours.
Serve with freshly whipped cream!
This recipe is fabulous with FRESH PEACHES as well!
Use the same recipe but with peach Jello in the glaze mixture. If peaches are really juicy, add 4 tablespoons cornstarch.
Thank you for being a faithful “farmer” with theDove this Spring boost. Your partnership is helping plant and water seeds that are reaching hearts across our community and beyond. As it says in 1 Corinthians 3:8-9, “Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.” Each gift is part of something bigger, growing impact and changing lives. We are so thankful to be in the field together.
“Dear friends at theDove, My wife and I appreciate all you friends and all the work you do. We are blessed by your ministry for Jesus. We pray many will be saved and encouraged as a result of your work.” – Gary & Elizabeth, Medford, OR

Fun Facts / Did you Know?
May Day - May 1
This day is all about welcoming spring with flowers, dancing, and fun traditions like maypoles. On this day, neighbors might leave baskets of flowers on each other’s doorsteps—a charming custom popular through the 19th and 20th centuries. From ancient Celtic festivals to playful medieval celebrations, it’s a cheerful time to “bring in the May” and even wash your face in morning dew for good luck!
Did You Know...
The Battle of Bunker Hill took place on June 17, 1775, as one of the first major battles of the American Revolutionary War. Fought primarily on Breed’s Hill between British forces and colonial militia, the battle ended in a British victory, but at a heavy cost. The significant losses suffered by the British proved the colonial forces could stand against a powerful army, strengthening their resolve for the fight ahead.

Glorify God Among the Nations – Seeking Him in All Generations
AMERICA’S PRAYER GATHERING - MAY 7
In 2026, we are in the midst of a historic and holy moment - as we celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary, the 75th National Day of Prayer stands as a sacred milestone. Americans across the country will gather on the National Day of Prayer in parks, churches, schools, and statehouses to lift up prayers and petitions to God, followed by an evening National Broadcast hosted by the National Day of Prayer Task Force from the U.S. Capitol Washington D.C. The Broadcast will be a culminating event; a prayer gathering available in every home in America to unite our hearts in prayer. This year we call our fellow Americans to join us in prayer and participation as together we glorify God among the nations and seek Him in every generation.
This year’s theme is a call to know the Word, Will, and Ways of God, and to give Him Glory.
“Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.” ~ 1 Chronicles 16:24 NASB
Tune in to theDove Radio & TV as we observe the National Day of Prayer. Pause. Pray. Join theDove. - Thursday, May 7
The Ascension of the Lord
On May 14, 2026, Christians around the world will celebrate the Ascension of the Lord, marking 40 days after Easter when Jesus returned to heaven. This solemnity reminds us of Christ’s final earthly appearance, His command to share the Good News, and His promise to remain with us always.
As Jesus ascended, He didn’t leave us alone: He sent His Spirit and entrusted the Church with His mission. Just as He lifted His eyes toward heaven, we are called to lift our hearts, taking His love and truth into the world around us.
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
- Matthew 28:20
This Ascension Day, let us step forward with confidence. Our Savior reigns in heaven, yet walks beside us, entrusting us with His mission and filling us with His Spirit. Lift your eyes, lift your hearts, and live boldly in the presence of the risen Christ.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for ascending to heaven and sending Your Spirit to guide us. Help us live boldly, share Your love, and trust that You are always with us. Amen.

Pentecost Sunday
On May 24, 2026, we celebrate Pentecost: the day the Holy Spirit descended and the Church was born.
Fifty days after Easter, the Apostles were filled with the Spirit’s power, courage, and wisdom, enabling them to go forth boldly to share the Good News. This is more than history, it is a reminder that the same Spirit lives in us today, empowering us to live faithfully, love boldly, and serve others with purpose.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” - Acts 1:8
As we wear red and celebrate this Whitsunday, let us open our hearts to the Spirit’s guidance. God is with us, filling us with boldness, wisdom, and love to carry His mission forward. Step into this Pentecost season with confidence, trusting the Spirit is at work in you and through you.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, come fill our hearts with Your power, wisdom, and love. Equip us to be bold witnesses for Christ, to serve others faithfully, and to live in the joy and courage You bring. Guide us each day, and let Your presence shine through all we do. Amen.
Moments of Reflection
Seasons of Growth
Even when we can’t see it, God is at work beneath the surface.
As May blooms into June, we’re reminded that God works in seasons. Spring gently gives way to early summer, and just like the world around us, our lives are continually growing, stretching, and being renewed in His care.
In the busyness of longer days and fuller schedules, it’s easy to rush past the quiet moments, but often, that’s where God speaks most clearly and works most deeply. Just as seeds planted in spring begin to take root and grow, the small, faithful steps we take each day are becoming something more than we can yet see.
“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
— Galatians 6:9
Whatever season you find yourself in, take heart, God is moving. He is working in ways both seen and unseen, bringing growth, purpose, and life. Keep sowing seeds of hope, love, and truth, trusting that in His perfect timing, a beautiful harvest will come.
May this season bring you peace, renewed strength, and a quiet confidence that God is near; faithfully growing something good in you and through you.
