Why 4-H?

“I was a townie and didn’t grow up on a farm but I loved all the activity that took place on the farm around livestock and I wanted to be close to it. A family friend loaned me my first calf and from then on, I fell in love with the work raising and caring for an animal and learning what was involved to produce high-quality beef.”

Favourite 4-H memory

“Looking back, it’s the cooperative, hands-on nature of the clubs I appreciate the most. We took what we did in a meeting and then applied it on the farm caring for an animal and grooming it for the show. We worked as a team and I always admired all the action and how everyone worked together around the chute to get an animal ready.”
