ABOUT ME

When I was in college, I have learned large-scale environmental observation and analytical tools; as well as logical thinking and reporting skills. Planning and design work requires a team of team of 3-5 people, so I also learn more about the way teamwork and the role I should play in different situations. After studying the institute, I entered the field of architecture to learn with clear logic and creative courage. I look forward to the change of things, look forward to the future, and love to explore the essence of things. In the summer of 2019, I highly expect to be an intern of your company. Japan's architectural culture has always been my longing, on the other hand, of course, I hope to understand the practical operation of the architecture through this internship, and pull me back from the design work to the

MATERIAL RESEARCH - SOIL 2018 Summer Workshop

High-rise social housing Location: Taichung City , Taiwan Principal use : Residential Design period : Nov,2018 - Jan,2019 Mentor : 張景堯 Jing-Yau Chang

DESIGN TOPIC: The main design topic of high-rise condominiums is the sense of alienation brought by vertical traffic and possible unsafe corners. How to create a vertical settlement with humanistic care is the main topic of this design. In this design, I expect to break the residential relationship in the high-rise residential buildings where each floor space is cut by the floor, which not only makes the space continuously blocked, but also blocks the possibility of residents interacting with each other.

n the abstraction of the concept, it is attempted to change the rection of gravity and create a surreal vertical living wall which low residents to freely move, communicate, and face the city. I hope is design can return the freedom of residence to the residents, and defines the collective living style of high-rise condominiums.

02

03

In the past few decades, the intense growth of population and the change of social structural have led to the continual production of giant buildings in Asia. The height and width of the building expand to the limit of the floor area. Such a large number of homogeneous manufacturing severely limits the autonomous variability of individual residential units.

EPT DESIGN CONCEPT Create a sur real wall and make the street vertical . It is not the gravity which is challenged, but the gravity of the residents. After the vertical distribution of the houses, this design redefine the collective living style of high-rise condominiums. Let residents live on the wall and face the city.

O ne par king space is provided in the middle of each household to maintain the independence and space quality of the residential unit.

In response to the shape of the base, four vertical planes are designed and placed on the edge of the base.

The residential units are independent to increase the ventilation and lighting area of each room. The raised living room extends outward to the courtyard and is connected to the vertical street. Let the space of life no longer be restricted to the interior, extending the sense of space upwards. Therefore it increases the possibility of interaction with neighbors.

Church Park Location: Taichung City , Taiwan Principal use : Church Design period : Nov - Dec,2017 Mentor : 林昌修

DESIGN TOPIC: Architectural design often requires understanding of various unfamiliar functions and user needs for spatial planning and design. How to effectively master the use of content and features for planning is a necessary exercise. At the same time, the planning and construction of group buildings are also carried out. This topic will require students to use the surrounding landscape and environmental elevations to design a church and related ancillary facilities within the designated base. In addition to meeting the needs of the church's religious activities and space, it also have to create a unique environmental style for the base.

2019 International Residential Architecture Conceptual Design Competition Location : No Limit Principal use : Residential and Commercial Design period : Sep - Nov 2018

Competition Declaration : "Residences" should not be merely places for consumption. Regardless of how minute the connection, how should the residential form be changed for it to be a part of the economic activities in the community circle? I hope that everyone can begin to think from the perspective of "enabling the residence and the community circle to form a quality connection so that financial assets can smoothly circulate within. From a spatial perspective, how can such a goal be achieved through design?

25

ENCOUNTER AT HOME This design attempts to create a compulsive neighborhood relationship. Let residents get used to this lifestyle. I tried to find the essential meaning of street aesthetics--humanity, and create space like lanes and arcades, which is regarded as an extension of the home. Therefore, private and public spaces can communicate here, and the possibility of connecting with households is also created. "Meeting" is another function of the home in such a space.

26

The lack of interpersonal interaction in modern house caused the house become a place where only shelter and child-raising . The residents are therefore indifferent to each other. The reason is that in addition to the isolation of the dwelling unit, this situation also includes the lack of interaction. So I started with the possibility of resident interaction, combined circulation to connect residential unit space, and made shopping behavior become an important opportunity for interaction. Therefore, the interaction between people; the way of trading behavior is the focus of my design.

27

I think business behavior is a kind of life interaction : commercial + residence = living And I try to redefine the way people live.

This design started from the observation of the vital urban space in Taiwan. I analyzed the spatial composition of such interactions. Further converted to residential unit prototypes and the possibility of massive modularization.

lanes

From urban spaces such as lanes, pedestrian arcades, and grocery stores, I sort out a few key points:

- human scale - street as an extension of home

pedestrian arcades

- mixed land use - space publicization - neighborhood business - human touch

Workshop: Material Research Location: Taichung City , Taiwan Principal use : Space Installation Art Design period : July,2018 - August,2018 Mentor : čŒƒć‰żĺŽ— Cheng Tsung FENG

RESEARCH TOPIC: This workshop is divided into two phases. In the first stage, each person studied a material separately. The research method has no specific provisions. Just understand the material as much as possible. Recognize various related contents of materials from their types, characteristics, uses, and processing methods. The second stage continues with the research results based on the previous stage, and use the materials studied and other materials to select a base within the specified range, and construct a space device that can provide people to rest. This space device serves as an extension of the bookstore.

37

SOIL RESEARCH The material I studied was soil. I started to understand and operate from the way the soil was built. Further understanding the characteristics of all aspects of the soil. I tried to avoid the way soil was used in the past, and looked for different construction possibilities from

38

MAKE AD

DOBE OF VARIOUS NATURES I use the ability of soil to blend with other materials and harden after drying, and try to mix different types of soil with different substances. After adding water, stirring, and drying, I made a variety of soil bricks with different properties to further understand the nature of the soil and test the nature of their being changed.

40

The Research

I use three kinds of soil (yellow, red, black) to start research in different physical states(soil, mud, clod). Finally, several possible directions are summarized, including the type of soil, bamboo as a structure, the nature of the mud, and the mixing with other substances. The study based on the nature of the soil, tried to discover its potential as a different aspect of the material.

Space Installation Art Continue the previous research results. Select a site in the prescribed range and construct a space device for people to rest as an extension of the bookstore. I use bamboo as a supporting structure, choose a linear site, integrate with street furniture, and use a different nature of soil to build a space device (Like a cave) with the spatiality of staying and crossing.

This work shop gave me an idea of how to comprehend the material. From understanding the essence of the material to the possibilitie to the construction of the material. In this way, the greatest characteristics of the material itself can be exerted and creativity can be stim
