THE IMPACT OF VOLUNTEERS IS IMMEASURABLE

Homes First is beyond fortunate to have community members who support our mission and are willing to offer their time and talent as volunteers. “Thank you” seems wholly inadequate to express our gratitude!

We have many residents who do not have the capacityphysical or otherwise - to maintain their property, so having volunteers who are willing to cut blackberries or hedges, and take on other heavy projects, helps to keep our homes in tip top shape. This benefits our residents and our organization by helping us maintain good standing in the neighborhoods where we have homes, reduces the pressure and stress on our residents to maintain the hard stuff, and ensures the safety and property values for everyone in the community.

The benefit of volunteer hours is currently calculated at $29.95/ hr. These generous groups have donated more than $17,500 in labor this year to Homes First. The dollars are only part of it. Having volunteers saves Homes First from paying someone to do the work, builds relationships with a wide variety of community members, and gives those who donate the opportunity to give back in a variety of ways.
