Pat Jones YMCA
31901 E. Republic Rd., Springfield The Pat Jones YMCA on East Republic has a long stretch of hill that circles around the soccer basin and gently slopes down. This wide stretch of land leaves plenty of room for all sledders no matter how busy it is, and the short-but-steep hills make for a quick rush of adrenaline without a long walk back up.
Doling Park
301 E. Talmage St., Springfield, Doling Park is made up of slopes of all sizes, making this the perfect stop for families with thrill seekers and those looking to play it safe. It is also well-populated with trees so whether you’re an adrenaline junkie on a steep black diamond hill or a first-time sledder on the bunny trail, be sure to choose a clear path.
Jordan Valley Park
635 E. Tra cway St., Springfield Jordan Valley Park is a prime location for those seeking a chilly thrill. This park features a variety of hills perfect for all family members, both big and small, with a steep slope near the intersection of S. John Q Hammons Parkway and East Trafficway Street and smaller hills throughout the park.
Ozark Community Branch Library
1005 N. 4th Ave., Ozark The gentle slopes near the Ozark Community Branch Library are perfect for smaller kiddos looking for a bit of independence to go down on their own. We also recommend popping inside beforehand to grab a few books to cozy up with when you’re done in the snow.
