In this edition, lets get to know Chuck Stobbie, Marketing Technologies and Digital Experience Vice President.

Achievements

Where do you live? Woodbury, MN; A suburb of the Twin Cities How long have you worked for 3M? Over 30 years

What have you felt most proud of accomplishing? From a personal standpoint it’s the raising of my children into outstanding young adults. They are wonderful and I admire and appreciate them every day. From a work perspective, I try and make a meaningful difference in all my roles. For me this means striving to leave the organization in a better place than when I entered it. I’ve been lucky to have a wide variety of interesting roles including product development, sales/marketing, six sigma, and digital marketing. When I was in product development, I was most proud of developing patented adhesive technologies to improve productivity for our customers. In my business roles, I was most proud of developing new business models to better serve our customers and grow revenue. What is your hidden talent? People say that I am allergic to the status quo and that is true. My hidden talent is being open to change and being progressive in approach. Tell us about your family, who you live with? We have a blended family comprising my lovely wife, Jane, and 4 children.

What things do you enjoy doing in your spare time? Exercise (running, hiking, core), travel, cooking, gardening, reading, family time and listening to music. What is your favorite place to visit and why? Tokyo. Great food and culture. Would you Rather – winter or summer for the rest of your life and why? Given a choice, I pick summer because it is most conducive to my favorite outdoor activities. That said, I love all four seasons!

If money was no issue at all, what would you buy? A tropical beach home large enough for all the family plus friends. Please share with us your favorite joke. I don’t have a favorite joke, but I do like many of the ones told by the comedian Jeff Foxsworthy.

APAC ECO Launches Cultural Experience

On Friday 26th May, colleagues of ECO Philippines hosted the first travel destination for the APAC Cultural Experience. 249 people joined the event, where we learnt about the Philippines’ National Anthem, some of the Islands, culture, foods, traditions and even some of the common Filipino phrases.

We are all very much looking forward to our virtual travel to the other 12 countries that make up the APAC Area over the next 12-18 months.

Lean Office Bronze Certification achieved by Service Automation LATAM!

We are pleased to announce that through the collaboration of our Lean Experts, achievement of the Lean Office Bronze Certification for Service Automation LATAM has been possible! In order to have a standard across LATAM, this certification consists of aligning our processes with the Lean Methodology, which includes standardized Tier meetings, Metrics, 5Ss, Standard Work, Qualification Matrix & training our teams on problem solving tools as PDCA.

APAC Hosts a Visit from Amy McLaughlin

APAC had the pleasure of hosting Amy McLaughlin in the area from 29th May – 1st June. During this visit, our people were able to participate in an area Townhall with open Q&A, Coffee Chats, Review meetings and a fun and interactive Customer Ops Connect session.

Beginning her visit in Singapore, APAC ECO came together for a Hybrid Townhall. Over 600 people dialed in as well as people attending in person to hear from Amy about the future pathway for ECO and have an open Q&A with her and APAC leaders.

“Watching our Team interact directly or remotely with Amy during her recent visit to APAC was what I'd call an "energy multiplier" in so many ways. Amy had just an exceptional visit to APAC, and after reflection that's not surprising when considering the immense talent throughout our APAC ECO Team.”

During her time in both Singapore and Philippines, Amy connected with small groups of people for a ‘Coffee Chat’. Here everyone enjoyed a casual and open conversation about any topic.
