A1 Restricted Motorcycle Licence Training

An A1 Motorcycle License is a great option for those over 20 who want to ride a larger 125cc motorcycle or if they are too big. However, you don't have to repeat your CBT every two years. There are A1 manual and A1 auto bikes available for you to choose. With pillions and on motorways when you turn 19, you can get a manual A1 licence to ride the mid-range bikes.

What does A1 Motorcycle Training entail?

The training is very similar between A1 (previously A2), Cat (was DAS). Module 1 has the on-site manoeuvres, while Module 2 has the road ride. Mod 1 and Mod 2 tests take approximately 15/20 minutes each. Mod 2 takes 20 minutes. Mod 2 takes 20 minutes. Mod 2 takes 20 minutes.

However, unlike the CBT there is no standard syllabus for A1 training. At 3Counties Motorcycle Training, we will help make you a competent and safe rider while covering all the details you need for the big day.

3 Counties Motorcycle Training aims to cover all aspects of everyday riding, such as riding in quiet areas, towns, villages, roundabouts and country roads. Effective use of gears, observation, signalling, positioning, and many other skills will be taught. You will also need to prepare for the Module 1 exam.

Module 1

You will learn Module 1 manoeuvres during your training with 3cmt. By the time you test, you should feel confident with each manoeuvre.

The tests results are discussed in debrief. If all goes according to plan, we can book Module 2 if necessary. We will discuss this option with you when we organize your training.

Module 2

3cmt will give you plenty of riding opportunities from our Hayward’s Heath centre. You will be able to ride in quiet areas and in towns, as well as on country roads and roundabouts. The basics of riding, including how to use gears, observe, signalling, and positioning, will all be covered.
