Weekly report & newsletter NWA J36 Suckled Calf Sale The second sale of Suckled Calves saw an abundance of new and existing customers in attendance from throughout the Northern counties. Prices rose to £1,000 for the champion, a Lim x steer from C I Briggs, High Wray. A strong trade saw steers generally £750-£820 for calves averaging 6 mo. Heifers sold to £780 for a pen of Charolais x, with most achieving £650-£740. Bulls achieved £1,000 for a pure Lim from W M & J E Shuttleworth, with others at £940. Older store cattle, saw short keep steers regularly over £1,000, with heifers £800+. Cows and calves achieved £1,600 for a pure Limousin cow and calf from T, L, B & J Knowles, with British Blue x at £1,480.
