NWA Lancaster Early Breeding Sheep Sale Friday 24th July 2015 The open breeding sheep sale of the season at Lancaster saw a bumper entry of ewes and shearlings forward following the success of this sale over the previous few years. The current prime lamb prices has had an effect with the trade easier than previous years and buyers selective about the replacement sheep they buy. Mule gimmer shearlings sold to a top of £141 from M Barker of Halton Park and £140 from EI Wilson of Sandgate. Good quality shearlings easily sold in excess of £130. Aged Texel cross ewes sold to a top of £109 from CJ & C Cookson of Kendal. Mule ewes sold to a top of £94 from George Bell from Kirkby Lonsdale.
NWA J36 Monthly Machinery Sale Wednesday 29th July 2015 The monthly sale of machinery saw over 500 lots offered for sale with a wide range of items forward. A restored Leyland 384 c/w loader sold for £2700 with a farm condition Ford 3000 selling at £1600. Balers sold to £1740 for a Welgar 200 and £580 for a conventional NH Baler. Trailers sold to £1830 for an IW Plant trailer with a 3T tipping trailer £700. Well maintained items continued to attract keenest interest with poorer quality items harder to sell.
