SHEEP WITH LAMBS AT FOOT
413 breeding sheep
A very large entry was witnessed today @ J36 with a huge increase for the same sale the previous year. There was a very large entry of Mules, and a large entry of outfits with single lambs.
Demand for well grown lambs was obvious today with lambs with more age making as much, if not more, than the previous week. However young lambs would take a hit today especially with the weather being like it was.
Topping today’s trade was a pen of Cheviot Mules with Texel twin lambs from Richard Gardner of Kendal College making £440. The same firm hit £400 again with a pen of broken mouthed Cheviot Mules.
Singles stole the show again today with plenty of outfits making over £150 per life. Topping this category today was Harry Blackwell with a pure Beltex family making £395.
Demand for sheep and lambs is certainly not slackening o .
