Whiteley Hey Production Sale 17th August 2020 Mitchells Auction Mart and North West Auctions J36 conducted on Monday 17th August 2020 the 19th Annual Whiteley Hey Production sale of top-quality breeding females and stock rams on behalf of Mr Paul Slater. With attention to detail in Pauls breeding program and the addition of “Garngour Awesome” in 2018 to his flock we witnessed the first of “Garngour Awesome’s” shearling rams coming under the hammer. Well there is a pun in there somewhere “Garngour Awesome” stock were “Awesome”. The females were again expertly matched up for type and style, and showing all the quality that just gets everyone excited. Leading the ladies were a pair of Gimmer Shearlings sired by Garngour Awesome which made £650 selling to M/s Wilson, Northern Ireland. Bidding remained strong and competitive with a further 3 pens of Beltex x Texel Gimmer Shearlings making £600 each with one pair being Black Beltex x Texel. Once the females were sold the atmosphere then was ramped up with the anticipation of prices on the first pen of rams. These all being sired by “Garngour Awesome”. This pen of rams sold to 3800gns, 3400gns and the full pen of 9 averaged 2010gns with the rams ending up in 9 different counties. Bidding was fast and furious throughout the whole sale of rams with customers in awe of the quality of rams on show again. The sales leading price was mid-way through for lot 85, which was a Garngour Awesome sired pure Texel. He was knocked down for 5500gns and joining Harry Wood of Popes Farm, Preston flock. The proceeds of this ram was donated to East Cheshire Hospice, Macclesfield. A total clearance of all stock produced some outstanding averages.
