Sale Conditions Stock will be sold under the conditions of sale displayed in the mart, recommended by the Livestock Auctioneers’ Association for England and Wales. Purchasers please bring the CPH number, address & postcode of the premises where the animals will be moved to and the registration number of the vehicle in which they are to be transported. These are all required when printing the movement licences. The Auctioneers & Fieldsmen will be pleased to assist in arranging transport for livestock purchased at today’s sale. Vendors please make sure all sheep are correctly tagged before coming to market. All breeding sheep are to be treated against scab and accompanied to the Market with a signed Sheep Scab Declaration form. No lots can leave the market without a ‘pass slip’ being issued by the main office.

A cup given by J E Metcalfe, Midfield for the Champion Aged Ram The Stainton Memorial Trophy, given by the Stainton family in memory of their late Father & Brother, presented to the Champion Aged Ram and held for one year. The William Braithwaite Memorial Trophy, kindly donated by Mr W Braithwaite for the best Ram, 4 shear or over. Association Cups to be won outright for Champion, Shearling and Ram Lamb. The Stainton Memorial Trophy, given by the Stainton family in memory of their late Father and Brother, presented to the Champion Shearling Ram and held for one year. A Silver Cup given by W Capstick & Sons for the best Shearling Ram in the hands of the breeder. To be won twice in succession and four times in all. The Silver Cup given by D Dargue for the best Shearling Ram in the hands of the breeder (confined to members of the Association with not more than 150 sheep). To be won twice in succession and three times in all. A Perpetual Challenge Cup presented by Mr G M Sedgwick for a Shearling Ram to a member with no more than 10 sheep. (does not have to be bred by the Exhibitor). The ‘New Vision Trophy’ presented by K J Kendal for the overall Champion Ram. The Scotsheep Tankard presented at the Annual General Meeting for the highest priced Aged Ram.
