Bulling Heifers Lots 20 - 31 Ballot to be drawn 10mins prior to the start of sale David & Margaret Barton have expanded the Luptonhall Herd over the past two years.

To speed up the process they only have sexed semen and genomic sires on both cows and heifers. Heifers enter the herd as close to 24 months old as possible.

Genomics play a large part in their breeding program with sires selected with positive health traits to hopefully reduce disease and lameness for future generations whilst increasing life span. Young stock numbers have increased to the extent that all the sheds are full. So they have decided to offer for sale the 12 youngest Bulling Heifers that summered at grass and 18 other Stirks and Calves including 3 Red and Whites.

The current herd production stands at 9882kg (2 x Daily Milking) 4.07% Fat and 3.23% Protein C.I of 407 days. Heifers make up 47% of the milking herd. The herd is vaccinated for IBR Lepto and BVD monitored quarterly for Johne’s and has just started a BVD eradication program. We will also be selling Luptonhall Buick Valerie a Heifer Calf for Charity in aid of Alzheimers Research UK.
