throwing open its doors to the community - so local families can access exciting OPPORTUNITIES arranging visits for schoolchildren from all over the local area all year round - to INSPIRE the next generation - our children and grandchildren offering life-changing work experience opportunities to people across the community - which provide a clear path for adults and young people alike into well-paid JOBS giving a chance to see how you can become a ‘drone pilot’ or change the world with incredible INNOVATIONS no-one else has even thought of yet providing students and local businesses, people who live and work in this community, the opportunity to learn new SKILLS and grow their companies

That’s why at Sellafield’s Engineering Centre of Excellence, at Leconfield, we commit to opening our doors to OUR community every single day…

In its first year of offering a work experience programme, the Engineering Centre of Excellence has delivered more than 2,000 hours of work experience to young people from across the area. But we want to do MORE. 10,000 days of visits to the centre in nine months last year were by people who don’t work at the centre - that’s people like you - more than three times the amount by workers from inside the business. But we want to do MORE. More than 50 events were hosted by the centre in the second half of last year to inspire all age groups and people of all backgrounds about the exciting and innovative opportunities the centre provides to the community.
