LITERACY MISSION

CHAPTER 3 ROTARY INDIA LITERACY MiISSION

One of Rotary's prime mission since it was started in 1905 has been to inculcate and spread the need of proper education. Taking a leaf out of this book Rotary India's Rotary India Literacy Mission [RILM] focuses on providing quality primary education as well as concentrating on adult literacy. For the easier and smooth working of the mission, RILM has adopted the 'TEACH' strategy where T - Teacher Support E - E-Learning A - Adult Literacy C - Child Development H - Happy School Each of the missions in the 'TEACH' program are interrelated to bring about holistic change in the way education is perceived and provided in the country. With the enormity of the task in mind RILM strives at forging meaningful partnership with the various Government, Corporate, National/ State specific Non-Governmental Organizations as well as international Organization that are working in the country with similar goals. The 'TEACH' program has been proved successful showing great improvement in the education sector of the nation.
