Crewe Foundation Awards Grant for 317 Main Capital Campaign The Crewe Foundation has announced the award of a $250,000 grant to help support the efforts of 317 Main Community Music Center (317 Main) to expand our facility and better serve the growing needs of music education in the community. The Foundation has long supported 317 Main and our work to offer musical expression opportunities to students of all ages.

Dan Crewe, Chairman and President of The Crewe Foundation, says that the foundation recognizes the need to provide community spaces where creativity can flourish and students young and old can have an opportunity to explore music in a supportive environment.

With a generous grant from The Crewe Foundation, 317 Main is well on our way to reaching our 4 million dollar fundraising goal.

The campaign is designed to fund the creation of new building space that will house much-needed additional teaching studios, community spaces and a performance hall.

The project is slated to break ground in the spring of 2021.

317 Main Expansion Plan Moves to Phase II The plan for the expansion at 317 Main Community Music Center crossed its next major milestone as plans were presented for a second time to the Yarmouth Planning Board on November 18th. The Board reviewed the more detailed designs to renovate a portion of our existing building and construct a three-story 9,300 sq. foot addition behind the existing 317 building on Main Street. Following the preliminary review, the plans will be submitted for final approval in January.

The expanded center will be a true community hub, where people can gather for music education and enrichment including live performances large and small, open mics, dances, and lectures.

According to project architect, Paul Lewandowski, the space has been designed with the local landscape in mind to serve as more than teaching studios, but to be a vibrant gathering place for the community as well as a regional destination for music and the arts.

New Space Gives Little Learners Room to Grow In an interview for our upcoming Raise the Barn video, architect Paul Lewandowski discusses one of his favorite and most exciting parts about the new 317 Main expansion-- The Little Roots room. The space has been designed with the needs of little learners and their families in mind, allowing 317 Main to expand and improve the popular Little Roots early childhood music education program and introduce many more young families to the joy of music-making.

The new home for our Little Roots will include dedicated studio space designed specifically for the needs of children and their caregivers and will include the much needed storage space for children's instruments. The design incorporates natural light to create a warm and welcoming environment and with an adjacent family bathroom, the space is ideal for children and families to gather for songs, stories and movement exploration. We are excited for the opportunity to nourish our Little Roots and expand our program to meet the needs of even more families.
