Currently in the fourth year of my undergraduate studies in Architecture, I have assembled in this portfolio a collection of projects that have allowed me, as a student, to engage with the profound, transformative capacity of architecture— its ability to influence society, shape our environment, and reflect cultural identity.

I am continually fascinated by the ways in which design can alter the landscape, redefine the character of a place, and ultimately, leave a lasting imprint on the Earth itself.

THUSHARAM

SKILL DEVELOPMENT CENTER

LOCATION: KUTTIPPURAM,MALAPPURAM YEAR:2023-24 SEMESTER :3 LANDMARK:ILA FOUNDATION.

This building carries a deeper purpose—it is not merely a structure, but an emotional experience. Designed for individuals with disabilities—those who are blind, have limited mobility, or are hearing impaired—it invites users to engage through touch, scent, and spatial intuition. It is architecture that speaks not only to the eyes, but to the soul through the senses.

Situated behind its parent institution, the ILA Foundation—a thoughtfully designed, non-profit charity—the building pays homage to its context. By echoing ILA’s traditional roofline and architectural language, the design weaves itself into the site, honoring continuity, compassion, and care.

ABOUT SITE: The site of Thusharam is open and minimally vegetated, with only three existing trees offering sparse shade. Located near the ILA Foundationit maintains a close contextual bond with its surroundings. Harsh sunlight enters from the west, while prevailing winds from the northwest influence the building’s orientation and ventilation, guiding key passive design decisions.

DEVELOPMENT: I believe nature is the greatest healer. In my development center, I proposed an inverted garden—a sunken, central space that offers both privacy and connection. While it creates a peaceful sensory experience through scent, sound, and texture, it also allows visibility from all sides for safety and access.

Beyond being a healing space, the garden ventilates the building and shields it from harsh western sunlight, making it both emotionally and environmentally responsive.

The sensory inverted garden is connected by gently sloped ramps and accessible pathways, allowing smooth movement for wheelchair users. This design ensures the garden—and the entire building— is experienced as an inclusive, personal world for every user.

Every space, from classrooms to toilets, follows universal design principles.

KOODU/ RESIDENCE

LOCATION: KUTTIPPURAM,MALAPPURAM YEAR:2023-24 SEMESTER :4 LANDMARK:MES ENGINEERING COLLAGE,Kood—a word that means nest in Malayalam—is a home woven for a design teacher and her family. Like a nest, it holds together life, warmth, and connection. The client sought not solitude, but togetherness; not walls, but flows. Privacy was secondary to vibrancy—she dreamed of a home where every corner lived, breathed, and spoke.

SIte on a contoured site, Kood grew from the land itself. The design gently followed the slopes, letting the house settle into the earth. This seamless blending of form and terrain created a dwelling where every space belongs to the next—stitched together, like twigs in a nest.

The site is contoured, with its most dramatic slopes toward the north, where it opens up to a serene view of the Bharathapuzha River in Kuttippuram. This natural descent enhances both the visual and spatial experience of the design. Access is from the east, via a road that branches off Thangalpady Road, gently leading into the site’s landscape.

DESIGN CONCEPT:Concept: Koode – A Home of Togetherness Koode is a home that celebrates connection over isolation. With minimal private rooms, the design brings life to shared spaces—family living, dining, kitchen, and play—all arranged around a central courtyard to foster warmth and interaction.

play area:Integrated into the courtyard, the play area allows easy supervision while connecting to the outdoors through a door—becoming part of the landscape during the day.

courtyard& coipond:A koi pond and a small fountain, shaped by the site’s natural contours, fill the home with bird calls and the gentle sound of flowing water, enriching the sensory experience.

Aramam is a four-star hotel and convention center, envisioned as a tranquil escape that lives up to its name—a heavenly retreat. Designed as a harmonious blend of luxury and tradition, it caters especially to visitors of nearby temples, offering comfort rooted in culture.

Set within a long, narrow site, the design seeks to evoke a nostalgic Kerala atmosphere. With sloping roofs, courtyards, and curated landscape pockets, Aramam brings together the warmth of heritage and the elegance of refined hospitality.

ANANTHA RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL

LOCATION: PARAKKULAM HILLS,PALAKKAD YEAR:2024-25 SEMESTER :6 LANDMARK:NSS COLLAGE,PARAKKULAM

Anantha – A Living Campus Anantha is a residential school nestled in a rocky mountain landscape, spread across 16 acres. The design challenges traditional school boundaries, creating meaningful voids throughout the campus to encourage openness and interaction.

It is a vehicle-free, walkable campus with dedicated cycle tracks and pedestrian pathways that foster a strong sense of community among students. The hostel blocks are designed to promote collective living, enriching the student experience through shared spaces and connection.

SITE CONTEXT:The site is located on Parakulam Hill, offering a stunning valley view to the west. Due to the presence of hard rock, the area has a low water table. It experiences strong wind flow and direct sunlight from both east and west. Vegetation is sparse, with only a few acacia, poriyani trees, and clusters of bamboo.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT: Community Hostel: Staggered hostel blocks promote outdoor connectivity and shared night-time spaces, reinforcing the sense of student community.

Open Library: A tree-shaded library located at the western edge of the site offers views and solitude, nurturing calm minds and reflective learning.

No Walls Philosophy: Most blocks feature louvered facades, allowing natural ventilation, unobstructed views, and a seamless connection with nature—ensuring that learning remains open and inspired, not isolated. .

Vehicle-Free Zone: Vehicles are restricted to the outer buffer, keeping the central academic and residential zones peaceful and safe.

Cycle & Pedestrian Friendly: Dedicated cycle tracks and parking reach all corners of the site, accompanied by pedestrian paths to encourage movement and interaction among students.

ADMINISTRATION BLOCK:- The A central fountain marks the entrance, while an exhibition space showcases student work and achievements. The waiting area blends indoor and outdoor spaces with nature-inspired seating. This design balances aesthetics and practicality, creating an inclusive space for all.

HOSTEL BLOCKS:The hostels at Anantha School foster a warm, communityoriented atmosphere designed for comfort and connection.

Landscaped corridors with greenery and soft night lighting enhance liveliness and safety. Outdoor seating merges with the natural surroundings, offering relaxing spaces for conversation. Eco-friendly pathways within boundary walls support sustainable movement.

The design uses modular units arranged side by side, separated by courtyards to create intimate outdoor spaces.

Wide front corridors connect the modules, promoting natural ventilation and an airy, open environment. This thoughtful layout creates a vibrant, home-like setting that supports students’ well-being and sense of belonging.

LOCATION: TANUR,MALAPPURAM. REAL PROJECT CLIENT:SHAFEEK&DR.RUKSANA

Located in Tirur, Kerala, this is a 3,349 sq. ft. residence spread across two levels. The project is currently in progress, and the interior design is being collaboratively developed by me and two of my friends. Together, we are shaping the soul of this home—curating spaces that reflect both function and feeling, with attention to detail and a shared design sensibility.
