Do only what you have to. Start each day knowing what absolutely must be done—and not what others expect you to do. What actions do you and you alone need to take to take your farming operation forward? Simplification lies in the answer to that question. Stop adding “stuff.” Emails. Meetings. Phone calls. The more you add to your plate, the more you complicate your life—and the less likely you’ll be able to do what you really need to do for your operation and yourself. Doing less=less stress. It’s a pretty simple equation. Don’t try to do it all. Stop with the long lists already. They take time to create—and once they’re done, you can easily become overwhelmed just looking at them. No one can do it all. The best way to eat an entire elephant is to take one bite at a time. Stay focused on doing what needs to be done each day.
