Unfortunately, the world continues to be complicated and the challenges remain. That's not to scare you, but to remind you to never lose your VOICE. Never lose your desire to be BETTER. Never lose your gifts for GREATNESS. Be the LEADER you are meant to be. Be a 21st Century Leader! You are the ones who are changing the world. It’s happening now and will happen in the future, because you are uniquely gifted to tackle these challenges and create something better for yourself, your peers, and your community. When you reflect on your time with us, hold on to those 21st Century Leaders' core leadership competencies and values you've been taught and always remember that "leadership is not about you, it's about all those around you." As you embark on this next chapter of life, remember it’s your actions that will define you and your leadership style no matter your job or title. Future Plans: I plan to attend Xavier University of Louisiana and major in Psychology. Favorite 21CL Memory: I enjoyed learning about the different careers within the healthcare field. It helped me narrow my career aspirations and chose the specific career I wanted to eventually take. 21CL Impact: Being a part of this program has helped me be more assertive and start conversations in my community. It helped me learn more about different people's perspectives and ideas on issues.

Future Plans: Attend University of Georgia and major in Biology. I aspire to be a medical doctor one day! Favorite 21CL Memory: My favorite memory is attending the Healthcare and IT institute and participating in the 21CLubs! I enjoyed the resources that were available to me and being able to work in a team of peers that had both different and similar perspectives as me. I enjoyed meeting new people and getting closer through different activities! 21CL Impact: 21CL has made me a more confident person, and it has allowed me to discover what a leader is and how to be one. I have learned many valuable skills such as communication and team building. I was also able to learn to network and in the process, gain new friends.

There are many things I aspire to accomplish in life from getting my real estate license to being a clinical psychologist and starting my own practice. Favorite 21CL Memory: While with Alicia Owens as our group leader, she had our group to find something with gold in it. It was probably my favorite thing because it was very interactive! 21CL Impact: 21CL has helped to broaden my skills and knowledge on what a leader is so I can make a better impact on myself and my community!

Favorite 21CL Memory: Zoom calls during COVID were always fun and I gained great skills! 21CL Impact: 21CL gave me leaderships skills that I have used at my job, church, and other organizations where I serve!

Favorite 21CL Memory: Regrettably due to the pandemic we couldn't meet inperson to discuss all the things we learned and bond, but my favorite memory would be our talent shows that we hosted. It gave each of us a chance to showcase what made each of us unique and it just was nice to see each other's talents! 21CL Impact: 21CL has definitely given me a view of the world that I never had. I began to see things in a bigger picture and took a newfound understanding and admiration to the world around me. It gave me instances where I could apply the skills we learned to real life situations. This provided a more memorable and useful method of learning all these valuable leadership skills!

Favorite 21CL Memory: During 2021 Christmas season when our 21CLub worked with 300+ kindergarten students to teach them how to make holiday themed slime as a hands-on STEM activity! 21CL Impact: 21CL has taught me applicable skills of how to be an effective leader and the importance of serving others.

I intend to become a music producer and own a record label that will allow others, especially those that lack necessary resources, an outlet to fulfill their passion for music! Favorite 21CL Memory: My favorite memory was the talent show during SYLI 2019! 21CL Impact: 21CL has shown me how to be a better leader. I have learned many aspects of what it takes and means to be a leader. You can’t lead anyone until you know how to lead yourself. You have to take into account your morals as well as others' feelings and ideals. Being a leader means looking at every aspect or perspective and making sure no one is being negatively impacted by your actions. As a leader, the goal is to strengthen others and not to tear them down. I have learned how to be a better leader not only to others but also to myself!

NORTHVIEW HIGH SCHOOL | FULTON COUNTY Favorite Quote: "Get in good trouble, necessary trouble."- John Lewis Future Plans: I am going to attend University of Kentucky and major in Fashion Merchandizing and Journalism. I want to enter the fashion industry and work on the business side, possibly as a buyer in high fashion. I also would like to be a journalist/editor for a fashion magazine. Favorite 21CL Memory: Attending the Warner Media Institute in the summer of 2021 was my favorite 21CL memory and the best part of that summer for me. I enjoyed meeting all of my teammates/peers and getting the opportunity to speak with professionals in the media industry. 21CL Impact: I have personally seen myself grow as a confident leader and have gained public speaking, presentation and networking skills. I am now able to present myself and conduct conversations with CEOs and employees from professional work spaces!

My goal is to obtain a Ph.D. and become a university professor as well as work for NASA on the Mars Project! Favorite 21CL Memory: I loved when my 21CLub worked with the kindergarteners in my county at a school function and taught them how to make slime and how it works! 21CL Impact: I learned lots of skills including team-building and problem-solving, now I know how to interact and work better with different people.

Future Plans: Attend University of Georgia and major in Health Development and Family Science. Favorite 21CL Memory: My favorite 21CL memory was going to the pool. I sat with a few of my peers who were not going to swim that night and we bonded while just talking about our lives in our own towns and sharing about our different interests! 21CL Impact: 21CL has definitely given me a view of the world that I never had. I was able to grow as a person and as a leader. I learned that the connections you make on your journey are the most important thing so now I always try to meet as many people as I can!

NEW MANCHESTER HIGH SCHOOL | DOUGLAS COUNTY Favorite Quote: "When they go low, We go high."- Michele Obama Future Plans: I plan to attend Salve Regina University and major in Global Studies and International Relations. After college, I would like to work for either the Federal government or the United Nations on foreign policy! Favorite 21CL Memory: My favorite 21CL memory was during my time at SYLI back in 2019. We went to Coca-Cola headquarters and got to learn about the history of Coke and its other products like Sprite and Fanta. We also got to listen to their marketing team and watch old sprite commercials, and my favorite one was the Drake sprite commercial, "The Spark commercial." One cool thing about the experience was that there was an endless supply of Coke products all around! 21CL Impact: 21CL has impacted me so much as a leader! I have experienced so much and met a lot of wonderful people. Being in 21CL has given me the opportunity to grow my skills in leadership, teamwork, networking, and service. Overall the most important thing I learned was the importance of giving back to community and using one's voice to advocate for self and others.

Favorite 21CL Memory: My favorite memory is listening to the speakers especially Carl Azuz - during the WarnerMedia Institute. My history teacher used to show us his videos all the time, and it was so inspiring to get to meet him (even if it was only virtual). 21CL Impact: 21CL has made me more confident in myself and I've begun to feel as though I am capable of being really successful!

I am a filmmaker and aspire to create award winning film and television content that inspires and entertains people around the world! Favorite 21CL Memory: The virtual talent show was fun! Seeing the various talents that my class had to offer was very inspiring. 21CL Impact: I had the privilege of listening to some dynamic speakers during the program, as well as meeting some pretty amazing peers who are also film makers. After attending the institute and collaborating with some of these peers, I was catapulted to another level of motivation, igniting a drive to elevate my creative flow. For this I am grateful.

I would like to promote peace, support prosperity, and protect American citizens while advancing the interests of the U.S. abroad by becoming a Foreign Service Officer. My ultimate goal is to become a United States Ambassador to the United Nations! Favorite 21CL Memory: My favorite memory is being chosen as a recipient of the 21st Century Leaders 2021 Georgia Youth Leadership Award and being assigned a mentor who continues to support me today! 21CL Impact: The training received during the Fall Summit and Leadership Connect modules have taught me how to become the effective leader I am today. I met a group of young professionals at the Mercedes-Benz MBUSA workshop in 2019 and their shared experiences motivated me to set higher goals for myself. Also, after joining 21CL I was inspired to start my own foundation which is now a success!

My hope is to first contribute to my new Harvard community by serving, learning, and leading in it. After college, I hope to attend medical school to pursue a career as a physician! Favorite 21CL Memory: During my freshman year I attended SYLI, and it was definitely one of the highlights of my high school experience. On one of the nights while at Emory University everyone had gone back to their dorms and instead of staying there and going to sleep, all in my hallway cramped into one room. There we sat, beginning as strangers but ending as friends, and we talked about life and our goals for it, our big hopes and our lofty dreams, and we supported and encouraged each other. This night is my favorite memory because I think that at some point that night, I realized that seemingly unattainable dreams could be achieved and that young leaders really could make a difference in community. That realization pivoted my high school path, and I will always be grateful for my many 21CL memories, but especially that night at SYLI! 21CL Impact: I have grown up in a small community that I deeply love, and before 21CL, I never ventured outside of it. Beginning with my initial 21CL orientation, my worldview was expanded. 21CL has allowed me to be a better leader that values vision, perseverance, integrity, and lasting change. Additionally, I have taken these values to my community to serve it, and along the way, I hope that I have impacted other aspiring leaders as well. However, I think that more than anything, 21CL has allowed me to realize my potential. I could have never even imagined being where I am today without the initial spark that 21CL ignited in me. Now I know that we are never too young to begin achieving goals and generating a wave of positive impact in our local and global communities.

I hope to work on Broadway on National tours, and on film and television. Additionally, I plan to work in public health education and write TV shows and films that are inclusive of minority groups and bring light to public health crises. Favorite 21CL Memory: My favorite 21CL memory was attending EarthCare institute in June 2020. At that time, it was the start of the COVID pandemic and I was sad that EarthCare was virtual, however I loved attending each day! Throughout the week, I met motivated and kind peers who inspired me to see my value as a leader and how I could benefit my community. I even met one of my closest friends through the summer program! 21CL Impact: Before 21CL, I thought only people who were bold and direct could be leaders and that leaders tell people what to do. However, after attending various 21CL events and Earthcare institute, I learned that anyone can be a leader, including me who is sometimes shy, and that a great leader knows how to better those around them. This way of thinking has allowed me to be more confident in my leadership skills and as a person.

I aspire to enter the orthopedic and sports medicine field of medicine. Favorite 21CL Memory: My favorite memory is the break out sessions and meeting new peers with similar interests! 21CL Impact: I learned a lot from 21CL on how to work in a group setting with different people and to be affirmative.

I plan to go to the NFL and later become a Chiropractor with multiple clinics! Favorite 21CL Memory: In 2020, I applied to attend SYLI @ Goizueta. While I was excited to be selected to participate, I was somewhat disappointed that we were not able to attend in-person due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since we were going to be virtual, I honestly did not expect it to be very engaging. However, I was surprised by the level of intensity and engagement that we experienced that week. I learned so much about leadership and business. As I think back on the week that I spent with my peers and the leaders, I remember feeling a bit intimidated in the beginning but that quickly turned into confidence as we worked through the business plan and presented to the judges! 21CL Impact: 21CL help me to gain the confidence and become a leader among my peers and hopefully an inspiration as well. I was inducted into Top Teens of America in May 2021 and was selected to serve as the Membership Chair of Atlanta Chapter. Due to my leadership and volunteerism, I was selected as Mr. TTA, serving as a national representative for our local chapter!

I hope to become an environmental policymaker/analyst or environmental consultant. I wish to create solutions to environmental problems and implement policies that protect our earth! Favorite 21CL Memory: My favorite 21CL memory was during 2019 when I got to attend the winter summit at Emory University Business School. There I got to compete in my first case competitions and worked with students from all over Georgia. I had an amazing time and learned so much! 21CL Impact: 21CL has exposed me to new environments and helped develop a variety of leadership skills including interpersonal, public speaking, networking, and it has broadened my horizon on career choices. I have become more sure of myself and where I want go in life.

I hope to eventually work as a Special Event Coordinator for a charitable organization dedicated to women’s health and empowerment. Favorite 21CL Memory: My favorite 21CL Memory is celebrating with my family and fellow 21st Century Leaders at the Georgia Youth Leadership Awards in Buckhead! 21CL Impact: 21CL reinforced the idea that leaders must first be communicators. Favorite 21CL Memory: During the WarnerMedia Institute, I had the opportunity to ask a question to Carl Azuz, the anchor of CNN10. I watched Carl Azuz on a weekly basis in middle school, so I always had interest in meeting him and talking with him about the broadcast and I am grateful to 21CL for providing that opportunity. Carl Azuz was friendly, energetic, and happy to talk with us! 21CL Impact: 21CL challenged me to be a better public speaker and communicator. I remember being tasked with public speaking on a daily basis during the EarthCare institute. Speaking in front of my peers and many strangers at the start of the institute made me nervous, but I began to feel more comfortable as the week progressed. Now, with more practice, I feel confident during presentations and speeches. My leadership skills have greatly improved. During the institute, we were often placed into groups with people we didn’t know, but who we had to work with to achieve a goal or complete a project. Working with unfamiliar people and ideas was really beneficial, I now feel more comfortable leading discussions and asserting my ideas, while also listening to others and being open to different perspectives.

In my very first summer institute (WarnerMedia), we had the chance to virtually talk to Michael Quigley from HBO before HBOMax was launched, so we got an exclusive peek. He told us about how he had acquired 50+ seasons of Sesame Street, which was so cool! Before this I hadn't really thought about the corporate side of the digital media world and this opened my mind as a potential career path for me. I also really enjoyed having time to talk with my mentor (shout out to Alicia!) and my group members during sharpening the saw. We did everything virtually, but it was awesome to build those relationships and I still talk to a lot of those people! At the same institute, we were able to talk to Jay Roewe, who was a producer on GoT for all 8 seasons, and he gave us ideas on what job might be the best fit for us in the film industry. He told me that I'd be a great line producer, and it's a role I really want to take on someday! 21CL Impact: My very first virtual interview was with 21CL at the beginning of the pandemic. It doesn't sound like a huge deal, but we're 2 years in now, and every opportunity I have been able to get has come with a virtual interview. I think that my first experience with 21CL massively helped build my confidence and has allowed me to help other people out with interview tips and such.

Favorite 21CL Memory: My favorite 21CL memory is when attending the 21CL Georgia Youth Leadership Awards Ceremony, where I was one of the recipients of the Award. One student sang so well that my entire family erupted in amazing applause and goosebumps covered our bodies! 21CL Impact: 21CL has shown me that I am good at connecting with people so I should take advantage of that aspect of myself and not only in a business setting but also in my everyday life!

Since I was a little girl growing up in the Cascade area of Southwest Atlanta, I’ve always dreamed of working as a scientist and helping my community. Although I was unsure of what type of scientist I wanted to become, it became vividly clearer in middle school that I wanted to become a Food Scientist. As a Food Scientist or Biotechnologist, I plan to work/partner with public health officials to create/support programs that provide valuable information based on research and best practices in the agriculture industry. I also aspire to use the research methods learned to possibly discover new food sources and assist with food innovation and sustainability. By helping black women and girls achieve better health and health outcomes, this will impact both the local and global communities. After obtaining my bachelor’s degree, I hope to further my education in graduate school and obtain a PhD in food science then continue to work in the agriculture and public health fields where I can present my future research, create innovative programs to advance the quality of life and health of black women and black girls as well as close gaps in health equity. Favorite 21CL Memory: I enjoyed attending the 21CL summer institute at Emory University and my most favorite memory is the group activities that taught us teambuilding! 21CL Impact: 21CL opened up a world of new opportunities for me to get exposure to various businesses and career paths. By participating in the summer institute and the multiple summits, I gained knowledge about various careers. I also learned to network with both students and professionals, to collaborate and work in teams. Most of all, my communication and presentation skills improved because we often worked in teams and had to present our projects at the end of each activity.

I hope to go into Biomedical research or work for a medical devices company to help create important and innovative devices that can save lives! Favorite 21CL Memory: My favorite 21CL memory is when I won the Toastmasters competition during the 2021 online EarthCare institute! It was a great opportunity to practice my public speaking skills, and I had fun with my peers. The entire program was a great experience for me; I also got a little notebook in the mail as a prize! 21CL Impact: 21CL has taught me so much about being a more confident leader and person! During my experience at a virtual summer institute, I learned about public speaking, organization, communication, and presentation. Additionally, I have met so many driven and talented people through 21CL who have really pushed me to work towards being a better leader and person. 21CL has been a big support in my path to being a leader of tomorrow and I'm excited about the future!

Favorite 21CL Memory: My favorite 21CL memory is from SYLI where I had the opportunity to participate in a negotiation activity with professional attorneys where together with fellow 21CL peers we were expected to solve a contract dispute between an agency and a professional athlete. The negotiation was lengthy as both sides were passionate and eager to "win" the case. We used informal methods to argue for our respective clients and although we had no experience in the legal field, we resolved the case just as the time ended! 21CL Impact: After joining 21st Century leaders, I discovered a liking for business and networking which narrowed down my career interests. 21CL has provided me with opportunities to network and build connections in prospective career fields. The summer institutes I attended allowed me to communicate with alumni that have recently been in my position and who were in the best position to help me utilize the knowledge that I have gained. I can confidently say that 21CL played a big role in preparing me for my future career. Through the summer institutes I learned many leadership skills that have helped me develop as a future leader and prepared me for the workplace. 21CL has helped to connect me to professionals and to practice networking at a very high level. I attended EarthCare as my first summer institute and without adequate knowledge in networking and communication but I left having connected with multiple professionals and colleagues and with a leadership mindset. I have reaped the benefits of 21st Century Leaders to the fullest extent by attending three institutes: EarthCare, SYLI, and WarnerMedia!

I aspire to be a Commercial Real Estate Developer. Favorite 21CL Memory: My favorite 21CL memory has to be from my participation in 2020 SYLI. We got an opportunity to go behind the scenes of Coke's new Sprite "Thirst for Yours" Campaign. Learning more about the campaign helped me realize how the creative directors were able to unite the viewer and the campaign message by using digital marketing techniques. It wasn't until then that I realized I could carry my love for art into a professional business environment! 21CL Impact: 21CL has impacted me as a leader in that it has empowered me to leverage diversity within a group. Instantly, I could notice 21CL's priority was to empower everyone to achieve more innovative ideas and skills. Additionally, being part of 21CL has shown me that unconventional career choices are really possible. Career-wise it has pushed me to continue finding the intersection of business and art.

Growing up, I always was fond of spy movies like the James Bond Series. So, part of me still wants to pursue work as an FBI or CIA Agent because the Espionage and Secrecy sounds super cool. However more practically, I think that I want to work as an analyst at a major Consulting Firm. Favorite 21CL Memory: The first day of SYLI this past summer, getting to meet all of my fellow peers, volunteers, and leaders was truly amazing. And being able to hear from different groups and corporations brought in each day was fantastic! 21CL Impact: 21CL has impacted me heavily through my growth and development as a leader. From growth in leadership qualities, how I carry myself, and how I mentally approach situations as a leader. Overall, I have been greatly impacted.

I hope to become a cellular and molecular biologist conducting research related to medicine. However, because of my involvement in organizations such as 21CL and the service that I have had the amazing opportunity to take part in, I want to also minor or double major with public policy/international affairs to create change where I see a need for it. I would love to do something on advocacy for diversity in the future, but my passion for science has never dwindled. Favorite 21CL Memory: My favorite 21st Century Leaders memory is while attending the Georgia Youth Leadership Awards Recognition Ceremony. I remember walking into the theater so afraid that I would feel out of place, but I immediately clicked with all the other GYLA recipients. Every single one of them made me feel welcome, and all were so accomplished yet so humble and kind. It gave me hope that our future is bright, and it gave me a group of friends that I hope to stay connected with forever! 21CL Impact: 21CL has impacted me as a leader and person by empowering me to be true to myself and also enriching my leadership skills. Through being a part of the SYLI summer institute as well as participating in GYLA and being awarded, I have learned so much from this organization and I think the most important thing that 21CL has ingrained in me is that anything is possible. Through the immense amount of networking, the meaningful relationships, and the opportunities I have been given through this organization, I have truly been able to expand my passions and my accomplishments. I have learned to believe in myself and also those around me to make my visions come true. After being a part of this organization, I was inspired to create new things and make my dreams a reality. I have learned how to be a true team member, but also take charge when necessary. I have learned when to listen to ideas and build on them as well as when to be the one to propose monumental ideas. I have become more confident in myself, and consequently my voice has become stronger. 21CL has made me a better person, provided me friendships and memories, and has taught me so much about not just leadership but also life!

After obtaining my undergraduate degree I want to attend a top law school with a concentration in public health policy. Through public health policy I see myself advocating for the underserved populations and communities to ensure they have affordable access to safe quality housing and clean water supply for drinking and other household purposes! Favorite 21CL Memory: My favorite 21CL memory is participating in Toastmasters! I was able to connect with leaders with different experiences, specifically one who worked in epidemiology. I enjoyed learning about their careers and also how to communicate effectively and how to make an elevator speech. From my group I won the Toastmasters in public speech! 21CL Impact: 21st Century Leaders taught me that being a leader starts within and the importance of always giving your best. If you put in more effort in your work or go an extra mile, you can be greater than average and excel at whatever it is you desire. As a leader, I learned to apply this in my every day life whether it be public speaking, competitions, or just every day interactions; taking the extra mile to study harder, prepare before, or go out your way to have a conversation with someone can go along way in life. 21CL enhanced not only my communication skills, public speaking, interview skills, but also gave me the opportunity to meet new people from different backgrounds - this comes handy as I transition into college!
