Chick-fil-A Finds a New Home in Flowers The continued growth of Flowers reached another exciting milestone on June 24 as community members gathered to celebrate the official ribbon cutting of the new Chick-fil-A restaurant. The event welcomed one of America's most recognized brands to the community while highlighting the strong partnerships and sense of community that continue to define Flowers. Residents, local officials, business leaders, and visitors came together for the celebration, which featured a performance by the Corinth Holders High School Marching Band, participation from North Side Fire & Rescue, and remarks from community leaders. The impressive turnout reflected the excitement surrounding Chick-fil-A's arrival and the continued growth taking place throughout Flowers. Leading the new restaurant is Owner and Operator Bob Bangs, who brings years of experience operating Chick-fil-A restaurants in Fayetteville. While his experience with the company spans many years, what makes this location especially meaningful is that he and his family have chosen to call Flowers home. Their decision to relocate to the community demonstrates a commitment that extends well beyond serving great food—it reflects a desire to become active participants in the place they now live and work. Conveniently located at the intersection of NC Highway 42 and SE Flowers Parkway, the restaurant offers guests several convenient ways to enjoy their favorite Chick-fil-A menu items. Customers can dine inside the beautifully designed restaurant, use the traditional drive-thru, or take advantage of the Chickfil-A App for fast and convenient mobile ordering and pickup.
Open Monday through Saturday from 6:00am until 10:00 pm, the restaurant follows the long-standing Chick-fil-A tradition of remaining closed on Sundays, as well as Thanksgiving and Christmas, with adjusted hours on select holidays. While unique in today's restaurant industry, this practice has become one of the company's defining characteristics, providing employees with a consistent opportunity to spend time with family, rest, and recharge while being able to also focus on the religious observance. For decades, Chick-fil-A has earned a reputation not only for its food but also for its commitment to customer service. Every interaction is built around treating guests with honor, dignity, and respect while fostering a workplace culture centered on teamwork, integrity, and purpose. These values align well with the community-focused atmosphere that has long made Flowers a special place to live, work, and gather. The company's corporate purpose reflects those principles: "To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A." As Flowers continues to welcome new businesses, Chick-fil-A represents more than just another restaurant—it is another investment in the community's future. The arrival of Bob Bangs, his family, and their team adds another outstanding local business committed to serving residents while becoming an active part of community life. Whether stopping in for breakfast before work, meeting friends for lunch, or enjoying dinner with family, residents now have another outstanding dining destination to enjoy here in Flowers.

T HE H I STORY OF
The Percy Flowers Store The first Percy Flowers Store was located at what is now Jordan Narron Road and the corner of Buffalo Road, just north of the present-day N.C. Highway 42 East Crossroads location.
8 | Treasure Newsletter | September/October 2026
After Mr. Flowers' death in 1982, Rebecca Flowers began planning the development of the Crossroads area. The centerpiece of that vision was a new brick store, while the old white west wing, formerly a restaurant, once again became a restaurant. The building contains 20,000 square feet of finished space and an additional 10,000 square feet of unfinished space. Shortly after Mr. Flowers' death, Tommy Fitzgerald, owner of The Grocery Bag and the Almost Famous Hot Dog, began leasing the store. Today, Donna Fitzgerald and Hayley Hodge manage The Grocery Bag and continue serving the "Almost Famous Hot Dog," with millions of hot dogs sold over the years.
At that time, what is now Jordan Narron Road was the main highway connecting Wilson to U.S. Highway 70 in Clayton. The photograph to the left shows Joshua Percy Flowers with his younger brother, John Flowers. As the photograph suggests, Walker Foxhounds were an important part of Mr. Flowers' life. The photograph of Joshua Percy Flowers and Delma Whitley Flowers sitting on the steps was taken around the same time. Their home was located across Buffalo Road from the store. In 1939, the North Carolina Department of Transportation constructed what is now Highway 42 East. The original 1929 store had burned down several years earlier. In 1942, Mr. and Mrs. Flowers built the second Percy Flowers Store. The white west wing, now home to Crossroads Boutique, originally housed a restaurant, as shown in the photograph. This photograph is also depicted on the cover to showcase the original Flowers Crossroads compared to a modern version of the Crossroads. The area behind the store was used for the Walker Foxhounds, and the photograph below shows the horse barn that once stood there.
The Percy Flowers Store is now home to several businesses including: The Grocery Bag, Crossroads Boutique and Gifts, Lumina Massage, Honey Wellness Collective, Ken Jones CPA, Cardinal Reconstruction, & Riverside Savings Bank. FlowersPlantation.com | 9

Heading Into A Historic Year AT THALES ACADEMY AT FLOWERS PLANTATION
Applications are now open for the 2027–2028 school year, and it will be a historic year at Thales Academy at Flowers Plantation. Our campus will complete our grade expansion, offering a full Pre-K through twelfth grade campus, and we will graduate our inaugural senior class at the end of the year—the first Thales Academy graduates in Johnston County.
12 | Treasure Newsletter | September/October 2026
Since we initially opened the doors to our first Johnston County campus in the award-winning planned community of Flowers Plantation near Clayton in 2022, Thales Academy at Flowers Plantation has experienced high enrollment across all grades, and we have continued to expand our physical campus (the third classroom building just opened this year, and the second classroom building and the gymnatorium were added in 2024). Some recent improvements for our students and families include: • Recess/free time across all grades, Pre-K through high school • Dramatically reduced homework loads • A return to textbooks and removal of screens in the classroom/on campus • Hands-on projects and vocational skill lessons in every grade • Latin starting in Pre-K and offered through high school • Expanded high school science and math programs • Free play and social time during morning carpool, Pre-K–12 The above enhancements are in addition to our well-known strengths, such as: • The use of the effective research-based Direct Instruction method Pre-K–5, including skill-based grouping in core subjects that efficiently teaches to mastery • A well-rounded classical curriculum with regular incorporation of Socratic-style discussions in grades 6–12 • Integrated character formation • A firm rooting in traditional American values • Emphases on critical thinking, truth-seeking, and more of our Top 15 Outcomes of a Thales Academy Student • A commitment to keeping tuition affordable for families We also have growing junior high and high school athletics (go Vikings!), debate, and internship programs.
We invite you to schedule a tour to see our beautiful facilities and experience The Thales Way in action, and we hope you will consider joining us as we head into this historic year at Thales Academy at Flowers Plantation. Magnolia Healthcare & Aesthetics In a world where healthcare often feels rushed, transactional, and impersonal, one local practice is proving that medicine can still be deeply personal. When Tonya Pounds, FNP founded Magnolia Healthcare & Aesthetics, her vision wasn't simply to open another medical office... rather, it was to create a place where patients feel genuinely known. A place where conversations aren't rushed, where relationships matter, and where treating the whole person is just as important as treating the symptoms that brought them through the door.
16 | Treasure Newsletter | September/October 2026
That philosophy has become the heartbeat of Magnolia. Located in the heart of Flowers, Magnolia Healthcare & Aesthetics blends comprehensive medical care with modern wellness and aesthetic services under one roof, giving patients the convenience of having trusted providers who understand every aspect of their health journey. "We wanted Magnolia to feel different from the moment someone walks through the door," Tonya shares. "Healthcare should feel welcoming. It should feel personal. Our patients deserve to be heard, educated, and cared for... not just seen." That commitment extends throughout every service Magnolia Healthcare & Aesthetics offers. From a newborn's very first checkup to lifelong primary care, urgent care visits, chronic disease management, medical weight loss, hormone optimization, DOT/CDL physicals, and preventive wellness, Magnolia Healthcare & Aesthetics is built around one simple philosophy: every patient deserves care as unique as they are. Here, treatment plans are thoughtfully tailored to support each individual's health journey. For many patients, that journey also includes feeling confident in their own skin. Magnolia's aesthetic services have quickly become a favorite throughout Johnston County, offering treatments that enhance natural beauty while maintaining a refreshed, never-overdone appearance. Services include neurotoxin treatments, dermal fillers, microneedling, medical-grade skincare, chemical peels, FDA-monited peptides, and customized skincare plans designed to help patients look as vibrant as they feel.
Magnolia meets people wherever they are in life. The practice also places a strong emphasis on education, empowering patients to understand their options and make informed decisions about their health instead of feeling overwhelmed by medical jargon or pressured into treatments. Perhaps that's why Magnolia continues to grow almost entirely through word-of-mouth referrals. Patients frequently describe the office as warm, welcoming, and refreshingly different. They appreciate seeing familiar faces, building lasting relationships with their providers, and receiving care that considers both immediate concerns and long-term wellness. For Tonya, that's exactly what she hoped Magnolia would become. "I've always believed that healthcare is about people first," she says. "If our patients leave feeling healthier, more confident, and truly cared for, then we've done our job." As Magnolia Healthcare & Aesthetics continues to grow alongside the Flowers community, that mission remains unchanged: providing exceptional healthcare, personalized wellness solutions, and aesthetic treatments with compassion, integrity, and excellence. Because at Magnolia, it's never just about an appointment. It's about caring for people through every season of their lives.
One of the practice's most popular traditions is #ToxTuesday. Every Tuesday from 4:00–6:00 PM, Magnolia opens its doors for walk-in neurotoxin appointments: no scheduling required. Patients can stop by after work, receive their treatment, and be on their way in just a short visit. It's become a weekly tradition for many local residents who appreciate the flexibility and convenience of fitting self-care into their busy schedules. "Life is busy," Tonya says. "We wanted to remove one more barrier for our patients. If we can make great care more accessible, we're going to do it." That same patient-first mindset has helped Magnolia become more than just a healthcare practice. For many families, it's become their medical home. From young adults establishing primary care to busy parents needing same-day appointments, professionals preparing for DOT physicals, individuals pursuing healthier lifestyles through medically supervised weight loss, and patients investing in long-term wellness and confidence,
