Piece together the trail, question real witnesses and solve ingenious puzzles. In Basingstoke are proud to present this new, one-day live adventure game in partnership with Casebook Events. Casefile: The Mystery of the StarEaters is a live choose your own adventure game where you play as a ‘consulting detective’ for the local constabulary. For one day only on Saturday 15th July, a dozen secret locations around Basingstoke town centre, some usually offlimits to the public, will be taking part in the game. Players will be able to collect their casefiles at any time in the morning and begin their adventure by following
the threads of information – wherever they may take them. The game will take approximately 2–3 hours to play, with players free to complete it at any time from 10am until 4pm. Although the game is designed for adults, a trail sheet will be provided for 4–8 year-olds that they can play alongside the main game. So why not spend a day out solving the incredible mystery, visiting interesting unseen locations and having a barrel of fun doing it!? Phil has been a part of the This Morning family for over 16 years and he is regarded as one of Britain’s favourite chefs. In spring 2017 Phil reunited with Fern Britton on our screens as one of the chef judges for ITV’s hit daytime series, Culinary Genius. Phil is a chef trained to the highest standards. He began his career as a Commis Chef at The Burlington Hotel on Folkestone seafront. He worked his way up the kitchen ranks and has worked in Michael’s Nook hotel in Grasmere, Cumbria, the Michelin starred Gravetye Manor in East Grinstead and Ian McAndrew’s Michelin starred restaurant 74. Phil went to the West Country and to The Castle hotel in Taunton as Head Chef where he won a Michelin star, 4 Rosettes in the AA guide, the Good Food Guide’s Restaurant of the Year, The Times Restaurant of the Year, Egon Ronay’s Guide Dessert Chef of the Year and British Meat Chef of The Year, among many other accolades. Phil’s first TV appearance came after he was invited to fill in for Keith Floyd on the Breakfast Programme, and over the past 18 years he has appeared on the BBC Holiday Programme, Ready Steady Cook, Proof Of The Pudding, his own series Phil Vickery’s Pudding Club and of course This Morning, presenting live and pre-recorded cookery items. Phil is a prolific and highly regarded cookery author having written 17 books – his most recent, Phil Vickery’s Essential Gluten-Free. Phil is the leading authority on gluten-free products and recipes, his books sell worldwide, and have won many awards. He is the National Food Ambassador for Coeliac UK. He also finds time to farm and spends many hours working on the land and with his livestock.

Jean-Christophe Novelli is a 5 AA Rosette and Michelin award winning chef, who is also dubbed “the nation’s favourite French Chef”. He began his exciting career at the age of fourteen as a baker in his home town of Arras, Northern France, before becoming private Head Chef to Elie de Rothschild in Paris at the age of 19. JeanChristophe’s life changed completely when he arrived in Great Britain in 1983. He spent a year taking care of Keith Floyd’s pub, ‘The Maltsters’, as Head Chef whilst Keith was filming his famous TV Shows. In 1996, Jean-Christophe opened his first restaurant, Maison Novelli in Clerkenwell, London, followed quickly by Novelli W8, Novelli EC1 and Les Saveurs in Mayfair. Jean-Christophe also launched Novelli at the Cellars, Cape Town’s leading five-star Relais et Chateaux Hotel, Moulin de Jean in Normandy, France and was Chef Consultant on Sea France Ferries. Over his career Jean-Christophe has accumulated no less than four Michelin Stars. Jean’s passion to pass on his wealth of culinary knowledge to others led to his desire to open

his own cookery school. The Novelli Academy opened its doors on April 22nd 2005 and, within three months, was voted amongst the ‘Top 25 Cookery Schools in the World’. Jean-Christophe restored part of his 14th century Hertfordshire farmhouse so that the Novelli Academy could be accommodated in his own home. Jean-Christophe is the owner and co-founder of the Academy. In September 2007 he was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Arts from Bedfordshire University for his 30 years of dedication to his craft and outstanding achievements in cooking. Jean-Christophe is only the third Chef in history to achieve this. Jean-Christophe is also a well-known TV chef having appeared on a wide variety of the UK’s most popular cookery programmes. He has also featured on an impressive selection of prime time TV shows including Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, Hell’s Kitchen, Celebrity X Factor, Loose Women, Through the Keyhole, The Apprentice, The Alan Titchmarsh Show, BBC Breakfast and MTV Cribs. Along with Gordon Ramsay, Jean-Christophe is back on UK television as one of the judges in the new show Culinary Genius.

Q What or who inspired your love of
cooking? A lot of people but firstly my Mum and my Grandmothers. I had one French and one Italian Grandmother, What a fantastic combination! A lot of people still inspire me now.
Q Where and in what role did you start your career as a chef? My first job was as a baker in France, I was 14. This was my first job and the most memorable. Before this I used to sell pancakes at the fair.

Q What do you order when you go out
for a meal? I always ask two things: What type of sparking water they have and what selection of bread. I also always look at the dessert menu and decide what I am having straight away. I am happy to allow the chef to choose for me.
