CLUBHOUSE

A SWEET SPRINGTIME

Our season is off to a great start! From our Easter Egg Hunt and Brunch, to our new Ties & Tiaras event to Mother’s Day Brunch, the Clubhouse has been abuzz with new and old members alike taking part in the festivities

On Easter weekend the Club’s celebrations began Saturday with a thrilling egg hunt for children, filled with colorful eggs and exciting prizes hidden throughout the back lawn. Sunday’s Brunch was sumptuous, complete with gourmet dishes, live music, and festive decorations

At our first Daddy Daughter brunch in mid-April our Knights in Shining Armor and Princesses were greeted at the door with corsages and boutonnieres that set the stage for an elegant brunch ahead Sparkly photobooths were a favorite as well as Princess Anna who made her grand appearance (traveling all the way from the Kingdom of Arendelle) to spend the day with us. Crowns were worn as our Guests of Honor indulged in Chef’s tasty selections at long Royal family-style tables decorated with just the right amount of sparkle

A SWEET SPRINGTIME CONT’D

Mother’s Day (which had the best attendance in 10 years!) was one for the books. Although it was a bit colder than expected, the Club was filled with colorful roses and spring flowers bringing warmth to the building and the celebration Each table displayed handwritten cards to thank all of our wonderful mothers here at the Club for all that they do each and every day for not only their families, but for our Club community as well. We hope that if you attended that you and your family enjoyed the special day

As summer approaches we can’t wait to see everyone back at the Club enjoying the nice weather. Make your reservations now for what looks to be an excellent Memorial Day Weekend of events, Father’s Day Margaritaville at the Pool, and our Independence Day Fireworks & BBQ It’s going to be a great summer!

GOLF CLUBHOUSE UPDATE

We are excited to welcome all members back for the 2024 Summer Season at the Golf Clubhouse You will see many familiar faces, as well as many new ones ready to welcome you back for a cocktail and lunch on the terrace.

The success of the Steakhouse-style dinner menu has made the Golf Clubhouse the go-to dining destination on the weekends We are thrilled to be open for dinner Thursday through Sunday again this year Due to its popularity, we kindly ask that members make reservations for dinner, so our team is ready for you

In other news, Golf Clubhouse Chef Raymond Pendas, along with Executive Chef Arnold Kruck have joined the team this year. They are very much looking forward to their first season and meeting the membership You will be seeing a lot of them – don’t be surprised if they stop by your table to say hello!

As far as the Golf Calendar goes, we are fortunate to still have available dates for outings for the upcoming season – including two premium dates in the Fall (September 16th & October 7th) Golf outings are a wonderful source of revenue for our Club as well as a great way to attract new members Most of our golf outings come to us from a relationship a member has with a charitable foundation, company or trade association

As you peruse the calendar, take note of available Mondays to host larger golf outings or consider smaller outings during the week. If anyone has a lead or any questions, please contact myself or Chris Muldoon

We’re looking forward to a great summer ahead - be sure to join us for live music Friday evenings on the terrace!

GOLF

UPDATE

The Women’s 18-Hole and 9-Hole Golf Associations kicked off their respective tournament seasons in early May The teams of Cheryl Rubin, Mary Fuerst & Tami Takeda and Cathy Schwartz, Marcy Valetutti, Jennifer Weiss & Penny Spangler won their respective Shamble and Scramble events to start the season in the winner’s circle Once again, The Tuxedo Club was represented in the Women’s Metropolitan Golf Association (WMGA) Team Matches) After five Spring matches, and under the leadership of Captain Kellie Baldwin, Tuxedo finished Runner-Up in the Series 8 Division – after being promoted from Series 9 following last year ’ s division title Congratulations to team members Caroline Beers, Maureen Cook, Jane DePiero, Joette Fullerton, Jill Johnson, Allison Kucinski, & Doreen Rose and especially our Captain Kellie Baldwin!

Unrelated to our tournaments, this season has already produced a couple of very memorable moments for two of our members In early May, Dan Gardella made a hole-in-one on hole #6 with a 7-iron from 165 yards. More recently, while redeeming his foursome from last year ’ s Folds of Honor Silent Auction, Andy Aran made a hole-in-one on hole #11 on the Hills Course at the Jupiter Hills Club (in Jupiter, Florida) Amazingly, his good friend Tom Lane followed suit just three holes later on hole #14. Two hole-in-ones in the group in a span of four holes! Congratulations!

Looking ahead, our premiere Men’s Member-Guest, the Men’s Invitational, is just a month away in late June; and the Women’s Summer Member-Guest follows in mid-July. We look forward to sharing those results

We look forward to a great season As always, should you have any questions regarding the golf program or operation, please don’t hesitate to reach out
