WELCOME

SUMMER BEGINS

By Randy St. John, CCM, CCE, General Manager/COO Memorial Day weekend is upon us and your Club staff is excited and ready to welcome everyone to the start of Summer in Tuxedo!

In the Tuxedo tradition, we kick things off on Friday evening with our Shore Dinner at The Main Clubhouse. On Friday, our full menu will also be available at the Golf Clubhouse and live music will be featured.

On Saturday, we invite you to brave the cold and take part in the Polar Plunge — beginning with a light poolside breakfast at 9:30 AM, followed by the Plunge at 10:15 AM SHARP. À la carte pool dining will be available from 12 PM until 7 PM on Saturday. Due to the rain in the forecast, our carnival games will be postponed until a later date.

Also because of the forecasted rain, Sunday’s Smokehouse at the Boathouse will now be Smokehouse as the Bighouse (Main Clubhouse). The event begins at 5 PM and will still feature an array of barbecue specialties and favorites. Reservations for all dining (and especially events) are requested whenever possible. As we head into our busiest time of the year, I would also like to take a moment to reinforce and remind everyone of the Club Rules (Rules Reminders follow on the next page). Club staff are trained and required to enforce these rules for your enjoyment and for that of your fellow members.

As we all look forward to the summer season at Tuxedo, on this special weekend I encourage us all to honor and remember the men and women who have served and made sacrifices for our country.

RULES REMINDERS

CELLULAR PHONES AND ELECTRONIC DEVICES AUDIBLE USE: Audible use of cell phones and electronic devices is permissible ONLY in the parking lots of Club facilities or in areas the Board may designate for such use.

NON-AUDIBLE USE: Discreet non-audible or silent use of cell phones and electronic devices is permissible at all Club facilities. Members and guests must maintain their cell phones and electronic devices in either 'off' or 'silent' modes at all times on Club property. The use of cell phones and electronic devices may only be used discreetly and in a manner courteous to other members, guests and Club staff. Members are reminded that they must inform their guests of this policy prior to their arrival at The Tuxedo Club.

CONDUCT: In line with the history and traditions as one of America’s oldest and most prestigious clubs, The Tuxedo Club expects its members to be polite and civil at all times. Use of loud or profane language is not appropriate at the Club. Any Member or any family member or guest of a Member whose conduct is improper or likely to endanger, injure or disrupt the welfare, safety, harmony or good reputation of the Club, its members or employees may be reprimanded or sanctioned by the Board and may be suspended or terminated from the Club.

DRESS CODE: The Club’s dress code is premised on the principles of tradition, good judgment, and sensitivity to the expectations of the membership as a whole. Full Rules regarding the dress code are found in the Dress Code section of the Rules. Denim is never allowed in any area at any time. A starting point is if you can wear it to play golf, you can generally wear it anywhere. Jackets are suggested for dinner at the Main Club.

SMOKING: Smoking is prohibited in all indoor facilities of the Club and in all covered outdoor dining areas at the Main Clubhouse and at the Golf Clubhouse. Smoking is also prohibited in the gated areas around the pool and on grounds where food is being served.

ELECTION OF GOVERNORS

The Annual Meeting's agenda will include the election of four Governors, as nominated by the Nominating Committee and approved by the Board of Governors.

Governors are elected to four-year terms and cannot serve more than two consecutive full terms of office. Any voting member (Regular, Senior Regular, Life Regular and House, Senior House, Life House category) unable to attend the Annual Meeting may complete the digital proxy, which will be distributed via email on May 28, 2026, and deliver it to the Club by Wednesday, June 10, 2026, whereby their vote will be cast by appointed Tellers. Married couples are treated as one Member for purposes of determining the number of votes the married couple is entitled to cast.

The name of the candidate for election to the Board of Governors Class of 2030 as recommended by the Nominating Committee and approved by the Board of Governors is: Phillip Hughes - Mr. Hughes grew up at The Tuxedo Club, where his parents have been members since the mid-1980s. Following his graduation from Quinnipiac University, Phil joined the Club through the Acorn Program in 2007 and transitioned to Legacy Membership in 2023. Phil and his wife, Danielle, reside in Midland Park, New Jersey with their two children, Quinn and Cameron. The family maintains an active presence at the Club. Phil is an avid golfer, Danielle and the children enjoy the pool, boating, and a wide range of holiday and family events/dining. Phil currently serves on the Golf & Green Committee and has previously contributed to the Membership Committee.

The names of the three candidates for re-election to the Board of Governors Class of 2030 as recommended by the Nominating Committee and approved by the Board of Governors are: David Christensen - Mr. Christensen has been a member of the Tuxedo Club since 2010. Dave and his wife Dianne reside in Tuxedo Park, NY and have two children, Cole and Hazel. Dave is in Wealth Management working for Morgan Stanley. He and his family are active in court tennis, and he currently serves as Co-Chair of the Racquets Committee and the Member Standards Committee and is a member of the Finance Committee.

Terrance Coughlin - Mr. Coughlin has been a member of the Tuxedo Club since 2012. Terry and his wife Glenda reside in Tuxedo Park, NY and have a son, Theo. Terry has had numerous CEO / COO roles in the pharma industry and is presently the CoFounder & CEO of Wyntra Pharmaceuticals. Terry currently serves as Chair of the House Committee. He and his family are active in golf, paddle & squash, and enjoy the pool, boating, dining, and special events.

Ronald Fuerst - Mr. Fuerst has been a member of the Tuxedo Club since 2013. Ron and his wife Mary reside in Ramsey, NJ and have a son Robert. Ron is a Managing Principal for Langan Engineering & Environmental Services. He and his family are very active golfers and enjoy many of the other activities the club has to offer. He currently serves as Co-Chair of both the Membership Committee and the Golf & Green Committee.

John is President of Oasis Senior Advisors, and Sheri is an attorney and founder of Injury Lawyers of New Jersey. Edward & Kristine Desciak Edward and Kristine Desciak reside in Tuxedo Park, NY, with their three children. Edward is a physician specializing in dermatology and Mohs surgery at the Center for Dermatologic Surgery, where Kristine also works as a registered nurse. Former Oak Leafs, they join under Regular Membership, sponsored by Bo and Christine Bazylevsky.

THE SEASON IS HERE

By Assistant General Manager Dan Britts, CCM & Clubhouse Manager Alexia Heuer Spring arrived in full force at the Club, bringing with it a wonderful energy and some of the most memorable events in recent years. Attendance across our major holiday weekends approached all-time highs. Mother's Day was a particularly special occasion, offering members a first glimpse of the renovated Member's Dining Room — a preview that did not disappoint.

Our KPop Demon Hunters event was an unforgettable celebration filled with character dancing, boundless energy, and more than a few memorable moments that will be talked about for seasons to come. And our Lakeside Clam Shack proved to be one of the true highlights of the spring calendar, drawing over 140 members and guests to the water's edge for an evening of great weather and wonderful company.

As summer draws near, we look forward to welcoming you back for what promises to be another truly memorable season. The spirit across our clubhouses is vibrant, and we are delighted to share several updates as we prepare to greet you.

Culinary Our culinary program, led by the talented Chef Arnold, continues to flourish. Members can look forward to inspired menus, imaginative seasonal offerings, and the warm, attentive hospitality that has come to define dining at the Club.

Dining Updates This summer brings a thoughtful enhancement to our Pool dining experience. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, service will shift from lunch to dinner, offering members two additional evenings of dining in a beloved setting. Live music will continue to grace Friday evenings at the Golf Clubhouse and Sunday afternoons at the Pool, along with select special occasions throughout the season. As always, we kindly encourage members to make reservations in advance whenever possible.

Events Calendar Following Memorial Day weekend, the calendar fills with wonderful occasions - a special 140th Historical luncheon, Nine & Dine wine evenings, La Vie en Rose Day at the Pool, Father's Day, and much more.

We are also pleased to announce the return of the Library Series Wine Dinners, welcoming distinguished hosts and winemakers from across the country and beyond. The first two evenings of the series are especially exciting: Château Smith Haut Lafitte & Cathiard Vineyards with Head Winemaker Fabien Teitgen on Saturday, June 6th, and DuMol Winery with partner Tom Pillsbury on Friday, June 19th. Reservations for these evenings are limited — we encourage you to reserve your place early.

Golf Outings Our Golf Outing calendar is filling quickly, a true reflection of the enthusiasm and engagement of our membership. One premium fall date — Monday, September 21st — remains available. We would remind members that golf outings represent not only a wonderful day on the course, but an opportunity to share the Club experience with prospective new members.

A MESSAGE FROM THE BOATHOUSE

The Boathouse ushered in the new season on April 18th with the debut of our Family Fishing Day — and what a wonderful beginning it was.

Families gathered along the water, cast their lines, and reconnected after the long winter months in the easy, unhurried way that only a day at the Boathouse can offer.

The bluegill arrived a touch late this year, leaving the afternoon quieter than usual on the water — but patience, as ever, proved its own reward.

A fortunate few were treated to the thrill of landing some beautiful smallmouth bass, and smiles were never in short supply throughout the day.

As evening settled in, we were delighted to host the season's first cocktail hour — a lovely occasion that brought new faces together with familiar ones. Conversation flowed effortlessly, glasses were raised, and the Boathouse once again lived up to its reputation as a place where warm memories are made.

As the evenings grow gentler and the promise of summer draws near, we invite you to come down, pull up a chair by the fire, cast a line, and stay awhile.

We look forward to welcoming you back for another exceptional season.

TUXEDO RECIPE

ROASTED OYSTERS WITH CHILI LIME BUTTER

Recipe Courtesy of Executive Chef Arnold Kruck 1 cup unsalted butter, softened 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro 1 tablespoon finely sliced scallions 3 tablespoons minced garlic 2 tablespoons minced shallot 2 tablespoons lime juice 3 tablespoons Sambal 12 fresh oysters shucked in shell, be sure to save the liquor or juice of the oyster and keep in the shell.

1 lime, cut into small wedges Directions: In a medium bowl, stir together the butter, cilantro, scallions, garlic, shallot, 2 tablespoons of lime juice, and sambal. Spoon onto waxed paper and roll into a log. Place into the freezer until set.

Preheat a grill for high heat.

Slice the butter log into 1/4 inch slices, and place a slice on top of each oyster. Place oysters on the hot grill and cover the grill.

Allow oysters to barely cook and melt compound butter, about 2 to 3 minutes. Squeeze fresh lime over the hot oysters just before serving.

CONGRATULATIONS Congratulations to Tim Chisholm on his win with Camden Riviere at the Court Tennis World Doubles Championships. This victory means that Tim now holds the record for the most World Doubles Championships ever won by a single player. He and Cam playing as a pair are tied at #1 for the most World Doubles Championships ever won.

The putting greens opened on April 2 nd and the golf course has recovered from annual Spring aeration – which included core aeration of tees, fairways, and approaches and DryJect green aeration in late April. Recently, we experienced a dramatic shift from a brief, record-breaking summer-like heat wave to significantly cooler, unsettled weather ahead of the Memorial Day weekend.

Brighter days, and more comfortable weather, are ahead as we approach the core of the golf season.

For the second time, we officially kicked off the golf season in style with a lively Opening Cocktail Party, welcoming members back for another exciting season. Held at the Golf House, members enjoyed an evening of socializing, reconnecting with fellow golfers, and meeting new members. After inclement weather forced the postponement of the Men’s Opening Day ABCDE Mixer the next morning, the rescheduled date welcomed players with near-perfect weather conditions.

More than 100 golfers joined forces in (largely) fivesomes to compete in the fun-loving scramble format. Congratulations to the team of John Hughes, Michael Kraai, Nat Longo, Bobby Gebhard, & Charles Matar that recorded 10 birdies for a score of 62 (-9) and a one-stroke margin of victory. Notably, John Hughes achieved rare back-to-back victories in the event as Captain while leading four new teammates. Congratulations to Charles Matar, who joined as a new Regular Member in late March and succeeded in his very first tournament appearance.

GOLF UPDATE

By Chris Muldoon, Director of Golf The Women’s 18-Hole and 9-Hole Golf Associations kicked off their respective tournament seasons in early May. The teams of Karen Banyo, Emma Mulvaney, & (our own) Corinna Limbocker and Barbara Gendron, Judy Consiglio, Elaine Urciuoli won their respective Shamble and Scramble events to start the season in the winner’s circle.

An enthusiastic group of nearly 30 juniors attended our Junior Golf Kick-Off Breakfast and participated in our 11 th annual Drive, Chip & Putt Contest. Paul Van Nieuwerburgh edged out his younger brother Henry to win 12 & Over age division with a whopping 128 points; Greg Fila won the 8 – 11 age division; and Chris Dowd won the 7 & Under age division after his brother James won the prior two years.

Congratulations to Ashish Malik, who recorded his second-career Hole-In-One on May 17 th . He achieved this feat on Hole #6 with an 8-iron from 153 yards.

Lastly, we are happy to introduce two new members of our professional team that join us as PGA Interns from the Professional Golf Management Program at Coastal Carolina University. Trevor Amero & Luc Delorme will work alongside the golf professional staff and receive hands-on training in a wide variety of daily golf operations and member services.

Looking ahead, our premiere Men’s Member-Guest, the Men’s Invitational, is just a month away in late June; and the Women’s Summer Member-Guest follows in mid-July. We look forward to sharing those results.

COURSE UPDATE

By Casey Klossner, Director of Agronomy As we head into Memorial Day Weekend, the golf course has progressed nicely after a cool, wet spring. Golf Course maintenance is in full swing flowers are planted, trees are full of leaves and course conditions are improving weekly.

Since my last update to the membership, holes created during DryJect putting green aeration are healed and playability is progressing. All other playing surfaces have healed from the traditional aeration we performed in April. Now that aeration holes have filled in, mowing heights will continue to be lowered, and smoothness will improve throughout the course.

The tree project that was completed in the offseason continues to prove beneficial to our property. Views between holes yield a more open feel as leaves continue to fill the trees. Our staff continues to overseed rough areas and germination has been swift with the warm weather we have experienced. Since tree canopies have been significantly lifted, I can already notice an improvement in turf health on some of our tree-lined fairways.

It is my pleasure to welcome three new staff members to our department, Trent, Jonesy and Pierre. These are the names of our three new autonomous mowers (pictured). The Golf and Green Committee approved their purchase in the offseason, and they began working during the first week of May. Trent is programmed to mow the rough surrounding 18 green and Jonesy is doing an excellent job of mowing the rough around the chipping area. Pierre resides at the Main Club campus with the primary focus of mowing the lawn off the back terrace all the way down the dam near the tennis courts. Please join me in welcoming them!

CLUB SAFETY

In partnership with ClubSafe, The Tuxedo Club maintains a comprehensive safety program for members and guests.

Staff from all departments have completed safety training and are certified in Adult and Child CPR, and trained in the use of AED equipment located throughout the property.

In compliance with New York State law, Narcan (naloxone) is stocked in select first aid kits, and staff are trained in its use. Our on-site Emergency Response Team manages any emergency until public safety agencies arrive.

If you or a guest needs assistance, call 9-1-1 immediately, then notify Club staff so that they can coordinate with EMS. For locations without staff present, contact the Front Desk at (845) 3514791. For golf course emergencies, use the on-course call box or call the Golf Pro Shop at (845) 351-7350. We recommend saving both numbers in your phone.
