2024 BOATHOUSE

The Village of Tuxedo Park will be initiating a Lake Management program intended to control excessive growth of aquatic vegetation, specifically Eurasian watermilfoil, as well as nuisance algae growth. The program is being carried out under the supervision of New York State Department of Conservation.

Notification of the exact date(s) of treatment will be provided seven days in advance of the treatment and will be posted by the shoreline on the day(s) of application.

We’re pleased to report that the weather has cooperated we have all docks in the water ahead of schedule.

Starting March 30th, the Boathouse will be staffed six days a week, Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00am to dusk.

Boat rentals and staff assistance will be available during normal operating hours, however small crafts (sculls, canoes, kayaks) can be used on a self-serve basis during all daylight hours.

You’ll see throughout this book that we have many exciting things planned for 2024, but we’d love your input. Please take a moment to share your feedback so that we can properly expand our offerings.

Boat Rental Information Cont’d Carolina Fishing Skiff Equipped with fishing pole holders and a fish finder, 3 people $50/hour Guided Fishing Tours Skiff (1-2 people) $145/hour Pontoon (3-4 people) $175/hour Seasonal Rowing Scull $200 Sailboats Self-service on a first-come, first-served basis.

Larger sailboats are moored on the water so assistance to and from the Boathouse will be required.

Tuxedo Lake is tested monthly by the Citizens Statewide Lake Assessment Program (CSLAP) under the supervision of the New York State Department of Conservation. As many will know, the Lake is the main source of drinking water for the Village.

Fishing Tuxedo Lake is often referred to as a ‘hidden gem’ for freshwater fishing. Trout (Rainbow, Brown, Tiger), Bass (Large & Smallmouth), Pickerel, Catfish, Carp, and hungry Sunfish all call Tuxedo Lake home.

Members of all ages can enjoy fishing at the Club, whether from the docks or on the newly equipped Carolina Fishing Skiff.

Fishing Derbies Open to all members and privilage holiders, four fishing derbies have been scheduled for the 2024 season.

April: Trout Derby May & June: Bass Derby Summer: All Fish Derby September: Fall All Fish Derby For rules and tournament details including how to register your catch, please check the fishing photo board in the Boathouse or inquire with the Boathouse staff.

Sailing Dating back to 1940, when the Club was registered on The Lloyd’s Register of American Yacht Clubs, sailing has been a part of the Tuxedo experience for decades.

The Club currently owns four Opti Junior Sailers, one Vanguard 420 dinghy and one O’Day Daysailer. .

Rowing & 1886 Regatta Tuxedo Lake offers one of the region’s most stunning freshwater rowing settings. The Club offers sculls for both entry-level and advanced rowers and has contacts to multiple rowing instructors for all skill levels.

Inquire about rowing instruction Each year the Club plays host to the 1886 Regatta where eight of the top men’s and women’s single scull rowers in the United States compete in a one-on-one knockout-style competition on Tuxedo Lake. This year’s Regatta will be Sunday, October 13th.
