WELCOME

A Message from Frank Peverly, Board Chair

It is my pleasure to welcome you to our most current edition of 1886 Magazine and our Annual Highlights issue This Magazine, and various communications you have seen from our Club throughout the year, is an effort to put more timely information in front of our membership and to encourage you to enjoy the wonderful experiences available on the beautiful campuses that make up The Tuxedo Club.

The accomplishments and memories presented in this Magazine reflects your Board of Governors' efforts to focus upon five key pillars for The Tuxedo Club:

Develop and enhance a strong family-oriented Club.

Continuously improve and expand our diverse and unique array of amenities

Attract, retain, and develop the professional staf

Honor our proud heritage and tradition

Have an unwavering focus on the member experience

Through robust strategic and long-term planning, oversight of our numerous and unique sports offerings, to the mundane but necessary enhancement of our computer systems and Human Resources processes, your Board (with support from many volunteer member committees) puts in countless hours to ensure our exceptional management team has the resources and capabilities to provide you with the perfect visit every time.

It is an iterative process that begins with the Tuxedo Club Vision, proceeds through Board and Management actions, and continues with documented and monitored results for the Board to act upon and adjust as necessary I hope the results have earned us your trust and support as we continue to enhance this Club

Of course, none of this happens without your active engagement at events, in bringing in new members, and in volunteering on our many committees This is our Club, and we are the current care takers of it for future generations to enjoy A great Club is reflected in the utilization of its facilities and amenities, a strong financial balance sheet, and the pipeline of new members being brought in by our current members. In all three of these areas, the Club is strong.

Looking forward to the next year, you will see continuous improvements as we bring together the elements of our Club and Golf Master Plans, with our capital and engineering studies, to create a long-term plan and actions that sets a clear direction for the Club and its future investments for the next decade Second to a strong membership, the value of our Club is improved through the growth of our capital plant and amenities Your Board takes its role as a steward of our Club’s long-term sustainability and value seriously.

The mission of the Club is, in part, to provide our members with a positive social experience in all our recreational activities, dining and entertaining experiences, and special events These next several pages reflect the foundation upon which we will build more extraordinary experiences for you to enjoy I thank you and your families, for the support provided to our management, your Board of Governors, and myself I look forward to seeing you at The Tuxedo Club this summer!

HOUSE COMMITTE UPDATE

With the 2023 season underway, transformative changes have begun within the food and beverage operation Behind the leadership of Chef Frederick, our dedicated team has spearheaded a strategic shift towards growth and innovation that will revolutionize the culinary programs raising the bar for dining experiences.

We recognize the importance of staying at the forefront of culinary trends while maintaining the timeless elegance and sophistication that define our membership With this vision in mind, we embarked on a journey to assemble a team of culinarians who possess a profound understanding of evolving tastes, cutting-edge techniques, and the art of flavor fusion in addition to classic creations

Club-wide event attendance for special events has been noticeably strong Smokehouse at the Boathouse was a tremendous success, and the beautiful weather did not disappoint! The addition of a second fireworks event on Labor Day weekend with cuisine honoring the heritage brought forth by many of our international culinary teams is under way This event will serve as the ‘rain date’ for the traditional Independence Day Fireworks and BBQ, solidifying at least one firework display for the season (but hopefully two!)

The return of the black-tie Gold Racquets Gala was extremely well received pushing the limits on seating capacity in the Ballroom, and we have five member’s children's weddings on the books!

As the temperatures rise, the social environment of the Lakeside at Main continues to shine as Chef’s menu melds modernity with classic dishes, which feature ingredients from local Hudson Valley and surrounding farms That, coupled with increased touch-point service, delivers an ambience that strives to exceed expectations After a few years hiatus, the master cellar wine list has been redeveloped proving to be a tremendous addition to the Lakeside experience Our wine dinners, which are always a member favorite, will continue throughout the year as well

The newly redone dinner menu at the Golf Clubhouse offers a steakhouse concept with harmonious fusion of international tastes. Our goal is to continuously capture the palates of our members by creating a dining experience which combines the eclectic energy brought by the members and staff alike The additions to our Halfway House (HWH) include a multitude of daily specials along with an increased offering of beverages including specialty cocktails and spirits If the HWH doesn’t have what you are looking for, place your order and the hospitality team will be more than willing to deliver your drinks to you on the course

The Poolside Bar and Grille looks for continued success after the kitchen and bar renovation last season resulted in unprecedented attendance. Opening Memorial Day weekend, the staff has been hard at work crafting concepts to enhance the relaxed dining experience on the deck With the core summer culinary staff returning, be sure to check out what they’ve been working on this offseason

As always, the social calendar is available on our website, in 1886 Magazine, and on the Tuxedo app The Club is looking forward to another phenomenal season and the entire staff is excited to make your member experience a memorable one

FINANCIAL UPDATE Operations

Fiscal Year 2023 was one of the more challenging years for The Tuxedo Club’s operations A difficult labor market and unprecedented inflation presented several challenges, however, Club leaders ensured that the member experience remained a top priority throughout the entire year

As noted in the industry publication, Private Club Advisor, pre-pandemic one million baby boomers retired each year on average During the pandemic over 30 million baby boomers retired and a large portion of the vacancies have never been filled. This staggering statistic illustrates how the labor market is stretched thin and highlights the need for owners/employers to remain competitive to ensure The Tuxedo Club is an “employer of choice ”

For several years the Club had benefited from multiple-year utility contracts that helped stave off some of the impacts of inflation. However, as these contracts renewed in 2022 and 2023 the Club saw between 51%-100% increase in rates in energy, fuel and power Additionally, direct product costs (e g food), and operating costs (e g golf course chemicals), also increased throughout the year Management worked to minimize the financial impact without sacrificing the member experience

The Club successfully abated the Club’s real estate taxes and will recognize ongoing savings in years to come from both the Village and the Town. As many industry leaders state “Private Clubs are in the business of dues”. It is only through the continued support from Club members and their sponsoring of friends and family for membership that will ensure the financial stability of The Tuxedo Club for years to come

Capital

The old adage applies here nicely “If you are not growing, you are dying” The Club’s net worth relies heavily on reinvesting in the Club’s physical property and plant Throughout Fiscal Year 2023 the leadership of The Tuxedo Club has embraced this sentiment. With the expansion of the Oak Leaf capital contributions, increased annual capital contributions and growth of the initiation fee, Club leadership has positioned your Club for continued success These changes have enabled the Club to:

Provide exceptional pool dining service with the completion of the outdoor pool kitchen, with its very own pizza oven

Implement various finishing touches on the golf course including walking paths and new trees

Complete necessary ongoing building maintenance at the Boathouse as well as golf course maintenance facilities.

Improve the Main Clubhouse’s first impression through the parking lot renovation which provided much needed additional parking spaces and safety for all visitors.

As we begin a new fiscal year the Finance Committee and Long-Range Planning Committee will be working together to ensure this positive momentum

MEMBERSHIP UPDATE

Gordon Borteck, Vinny Errigo, III and Megan Hayes, Membership Co-Chairs

Membership

After developing a dynamic membership model in Fiscal Year 2022 that significantly improved our understanding of the Club’s membership make-up and dues revenue drivers, we are delighted to share that by all accounts Fiscal Year 2023 was a very positive year of growth for our Club

Fiscal Year 2023 Highlights:

The addition of 19 Regular Members

The addition of 37 Oak Leaf/Acorn Privilege Holders

Just 14 Regular Member resignations/transfers, far less than our historical average of 27 Membership Dues revenues exceeded budget by more than $200,000 ($6,024,993 vs $5,802,204)

Oak Leaf/Acorn renewal rate of 89% vs goal of 75% Oak Leaf/Acorn conversion rate of 79% vs goal of 75% A Membership count of over 600 (the first time since 2008)

Annual Report | Page 17

Oak Leaf/Acorn Program

In 2021 the Club successfully relaunched its Oak/Leaf Acorn program which now boasts 112 Privilege Holders. As we enter Fiscal Year 2024, we are pleased to report our Oak Leaf/Acorn program is now the Club’s largest driver of Regular Members. While on-going member introductions are critical to sustaining our membership, this program has helped to create an internal pipeline for future growth In the upcoming fiscal year, we have 28 Oak Leafs/Acorns slated to convert to Regular Member If our conversion rates remain strong, which we expect that they will, we are in a position to add over 20 Regular Members to the Club’s membership in Fiscal Year 2024

Initiation Fee Increase

With the increased interest in our Club and the significant improvements we ’ ve recently made to the Club’s facilities, in Fiscal Year 2023 the Board determined that it was an appropriate time to re-evaluate the Club’s initiation fees In evaluating such an increase, the Board consulted with industry experts and benchmarked against peer Clubs in the region to ensure we stay competitive, while also reflecting the exceptional value The Tuxedo Club brings to our new member candidates We’re pleased to report that we successfully developed an initiation fee increase strategy, and on June 1, 2023, the Club’s higher initiation fees of $40,000 for Regular and $10,000 for House went into effect These higher fees not only honor the value of our Club, but will be used to fund important Club capital projects in the coming years.

Marketing

From a marketing perspective, in Fiscal Year 2023 we focused on information transparency and made a concerted effort to improve and increase the frequency of our member communications.

Our Club communications strive to showcase the special nature of our Club In Fiscal Year 2023 we introduced 1886 Magazine, and the Club will soon unveil a new website, mobile application and weekly correspondence In Fiscal Year 2024 we will be developing an educational piece for members and staff that will highlight the Club’s rich history and traditions

Our Committee also formalized a Social Media policy in Fiscal Year 2023, which is now part of the Club Rules. For those who are not familiar with it, it can be found in the Club Rules linked here

Special Thanks

A special thanks to all who work tirelessly to grow our membership and improve our Club, especially the Club’s wonderful Membership Committee and Board of Governors who as a team completed over 50 Meet & Greets with Privilege Holders and new Members this year!

GOLF UPDATE

2022 was a transformational year for the golf course The Golf Course Enhancement and Bunker Project was completed, and the course re-opened shy of Memorial Day while a few ancillary tee projects lingered into June It was the largest golf course improvement project in recent Club history Under the guidance of nationally recognized architect Rees Jones, whose father Robert Trent Jones, Sr designed our golf course, the project completed significant components of the Club’s long-range master plan, including:

Rebuilding all bunkers with modern drainage techniques

Re-positioning of select fairway and greenside bunkers

Creating additional greenside chipping areas around select green complexes

Creating a new hole #9 to allow for a short game practice area in its former location

Over the remainder of the season, members and their guests enjoyed the finished product that has received widely positive reviews

Despite the delayed opening, 15,648 rounds were played in 2022 compared to nearly 17,000 in 2021 Using only comparable months from June onward due to the golf course renovation project, play was up more than 1,700 rounds compared to that same 6-month period the year prior. As work-life flexibility continues, the golf industry has benefited from a surge of activity over the past few years – and this season expects to be another busy one

While our member tournament play remained robust, we were proud to welcome some of the area ’ s best amateur golfers and show off our golf course renovation As a founding member of the Metropolitan Golf Association (MGA), The Tuxedo Club has been a longtime supporter of the MGA and its championships In the fall of last year, the Met area ’ s top players aged 30 and older visited Tuxedo for the 16th MGA Mid-Amateur Championship. Past Met Amateur champion Pat Wilson returned to the winner's circle and went wire-to-wire to earn a three-stroke victory. Wilson acknowledged the Club for our hospitality and superb course conditioning throughout the week Wilson added “this was a special week, and I will have fond memories of Tuxedo forever” Final results can be found here

Lastly, golf outings are a wonderful source of revenue for our Club as well as a great way to attract new members Most of our golf outings come to us from a relationship a member has with a charitable foundation, company or trade association. Golf outing revenue has rebounded from the pandemic. “On par ” revenues from last season ($241,754) are projected to increase substantially this season ($347,489). Our golf outing calendar is filling up quickly for this season, so reach out now if interested in hosting a group of friends, a company or charity outing

A special thanks to the Members of the Golf & Green Committee for their guidance and support throughout each season We look forward to a great season

Annual Report | Page 23

WINNER!

Congratulations to our very own Keith Kucinski who was the winner of The National Club Association’s first-ever photo contest. Keith’s photo of a red-tailed hawk sitting atop the flagstick on the Club’s 5th green appeared on the cover of the Winter Issue of Club Director Magazine, which is a leading resource for the country’s top private clubs

GREENS UPDATE

Welcome to the 2023 Season! Excellent weather this spring has promoted an increase in soil temperatures and the golf course is benefiting tremendously Our new putting green covers were installed last fall to protect our greens from the harshness of the winter Upon removal of the covers, we were ecstatic to find that the putting greens were in excellent condition for the end of March.

In our estimation, the putting green covers gave the putting greens a 3-4 week “head start” to the growing season This winter was mild, but the plant health benefits were off the charts Below is an unbelievable picture of our 7th green on March 20th:

April was a productive month for our department as well All playing surfaces were aerified on time and on schedule Drill and Fill was also completed during the last week of April The putting greens are nearly 100% healed and are in great standing as we head for the summer months and the core golf season.

Our 2022 Golf Course Enhancement Project is approximately one year out from its completion All closely mown areas and bunkers are growing in well All seeded fescue areas are coming in slowly, but surely, and fescue bunker faces that were renovated last season are starting to really frame our green complexes nicely Now that these renovated areas have had an offseason to overwinter, we will be looking to tighten up mowing heights even more and really dial in playing conditions

The excitement in the department is palpable and the team is looking forward to the upcoming summer season!

RACQUETS

It is hard not to be excited about a Club that offers seven racquet sports for its members: Court Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Squash, Platform Tennis, Rackets, Pickleball & Ping Pong Court Tennis!

Carlos Maldonaldo and Dean Artrip did an amazing job in getting the lawn tennis courts open for play in early May 2022 We are fortunate enough to have arguably the best Har-Tru lawn tennis courts in the tri-state area The Friday night mixers were a popular event early in the lawn tennis season, and a great way for the membership to meet the 2022 Summer Professional staff: Aizat Zholdakayeva, Clara Mantau & Evie Smart.

The summer Lawn Tennis season was among the busiest in the past 10 years at The Tuxedo Club with adults and children of all levels getting out on the courts With a bunch of new families enjoying the facilities offered at Tuxedo, the camps were populated by a large contingent of youngsters that will be the next generation of racquets players at Tuxedo

Court Tennis used to be a ‘winter sport’ at Tuxedo but has now evolved into a very active year-round sport under the leadership of Charles de Casteja and Dave Christensen June saw Tuxedo host the USCTA Mixed Doubles Championships with Tuxedo Club member Xanthe Ranger and her partner Will Hopton taking home the championship. The end of June saw Racquets Director Tim Chisholm and his partner Camden Riviere (World Singles Champion) head to Bordeaux to defend their World Doubles title Camden and Tim defended their title over Steve Virgona and John Lumley winning by five sets to two Tim & Camden will look to make it five titles in a row in 2024 at a yet to be determined US venue. A huge Thank You to Lindsay Dow and Leonard Mazzone for all of their support of Tim and Camden.

Tuxedo continues to be the epicenter of Junior Court Tennis in the US, hosting the US Junior singles and doubles championships along with the USCTPF (United States Court Tennis Preservation Foundation) camp in July

In September the Racquets Program said good-bye to Leon Smart after three years at The Tuxedo Club We were sad to see Leon head back north to Boston, but we were very excited for him and his new position as the Racquets Director at the Tennis & Racquet Club

With the weather getting colder, Platform Tennis season started warming up as Tuxedo fielded three interclub teams (2 men ’ s and 1 women ’s) for the 22’-23’ season. Congratulations to both of the men ’ s teams this past season, as Tux 1 won the regular season while Tux 2 won the play-offs in their respective divisions to move up a flight for the 23’-24’ season

The annual Hadden Tomes event in October was another roaring success in 2022! A full field of players as usual enjoyed the fantastic job that Dan Britts and his staff did in providing the ‘unique’ flavor to the Western theme of Hadden Tomes Bull riding and axe throwing complimented a fantastic party atmosphere at the Main Club A huge thank you to Maura Lennon for her creative genius in making this event such a huge success year after year.

The Turkey Handicap (Court Tennis singles) numbers continue to increase year to year, with 2022 being no exception to this trend Kurt Mueller was a buzz saw in 2022 cutting down all comers on his way to the title

US Junior Court Tennis may have its next young star coming from the stable of youngsters in Tuxedo. The USCTA Annual Dinner is held each December at The Racquet & Tennis Club in New York City, where annual awards are presented in conjunction with the playing of the Whitney Cup Tuxedo Club junior players Hazel Christensen and Calliope Yannuzzi were honored in December as the most improved juniors in the game You will hear more about Hazel and Calliope a bit later

January of each year sees the playing of ‘level’ events for the USCTA at a number of different venues.

Tuxedo hosted the Burke Cup in 2023 It took three chances by the Yannuzzi family to finally beat Gordon McMorris, but Theo Yannuzzi played a great final and emerged as the 2023 Burke Cup champion

The Tuxedo Gold Racquets has a history all of its own… and the 2023 Gold Racquets Committee and Randy St John’s staff did themselves proud with the 2023 product across the entire holiday weekend Young guns Max Trueman and Noah Motz squared off in the Court Tennis singles final and delighted the crowd with some fantastic tennis Peter Cipriano continued his dominance of the Rackets singles over very game Guy Devereux in the final.

The 2023 US Open was held in Boston with a different venue but Groundhog Day feel as Camden Riviere continues his dominance in singles and carries along his ‘long in the tooth’ doubles partner Tim Chisholm to their 11th straight US Open Doubles title

The Men’s Platform Tennis Men's Doubles title went to Jay Meyer and Jo Diedrichs over a very game Richard Jahnke and Ara Kantardjian who survived a marathon semi-final match to make the final

Court Tennis Club Championships to date saw the following emerge as Champions:

Men's Singles à Guy Devereux

Men's Doubles à George Handy & Chris Heffernan

Women’s Doubles à Xanthe Ranger & Megan Hayes

The 2023 USCTA Women’s Invitational was held at The Tuxedo Club and won by Tuxedo member Xanthe Ranger

USCTA most improved juniors Calliope Yannuzzi & Hazel Christensen qualified for the inaugural U19 women ’ s World Championship held at the Oratory School in England A huge congratulations to Calliope and Hazel for both qualifying at the age of 15.

The Racquets committee is looking forward to more participation across all racquet sports in 23’-24’ and many more trophies won by Tuxedo members

Annual Report | Page 29

BOATHOUSE UPDATE

As we enter the 2023 season, we look back at the great improvements the Club made at the waterfront last year. Much needed renovations to the Club pontoon rentals brought a lively ripple effect felt through the entire facility. A new rescue boat, the Poly410, was added to the fleet to allow for better response and rescue times while providing the Club the opportunity to repurpose the old skiff into a rental fishing skiff (much to the delight of our members who fish!) Our Boat Master, Ted Thiessen, enhanced the facility with a multitude of projects resulting in a streamlined member experience and increased usage of the facilities

Recognizing the history of the sport at Tuxedo, the Club is now an active member of the U S Rowing Association making the Club the 2nd oldest rowing organization in the country. The inaugural 1886 Regatta last October was well received by members and guests alike. The competitors, eight men and eight women by invitation only (featuring many U.S. Olympic team members), spoke very highly of the experience and it has sparked extraordinary interest from the rowing community We would like to recognize the members and stewards of the Regatta Committee for their diligent efforts to bring rowing back to the community

Thank you to Joe Ehrlich, Chris Mahan and our sculling advisor Michael Martinov The 2nd annual 1886 Regatta is set to take place on Sunday, October 8, 2023

Looking ahead, the Boathouse team aims to build on last year's successes and continue to

POOL UPDATE

‘Buzzing’ would be an understatement when describing the atmosphere on the pool deck during the 2022 season. A season that saw nice weather for most of the summer, our beautiful Frederick Law Olmsted-designed pool facility saw an exceptional growth in activity Morning water aerobics twice weekly, Mini Oaks Kid’s Club, water polo, and a slew of other events kept the pool vibrantly active from start to finish The addition of our outdoor kitchen and renovations to the bar facility brought back the service that members were deprived of for the previous two pandemic-driven seasons.

We enter the 2023 season with continued prosperity at the forefront Our Pool Director Justine DeVito is working diligently to enhance the ingenuity that brought success last season On-going lifeguard training, consisting of mock rescues and other timerelated exercises, will occur throughout the season to ensure our lifeguard team is prepared for all types of scenarios.

The return of our core seasonal culinary staff brings continuity and rejuvenated enthusiasm back for another summer

We are excited for what the 2023 season will hold Keep an eye out for the finished Bocce court just outside the main entrance, as well as other upgrades coming to fruition. Events at the Poolside Bar & Grille, such as La Vie en Rose Day and more, will be advertised in the Club’s weekly eblast
