TUXEDO RECIPE
MEMORIAL DAY POTATO SALAD
Recipe Adapted from Ina Garten
Serves 8-10
Ingredients:
3 pounds small red potatoes
Kosher salt
1 cup good mayonnaise
3 tablespoons white vinegar
4 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1/2 cup chopped fresh dill
Freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped red onion
Directions:
Place the potatoes and 2 tablespoons of salt in a large pot of water Bring the water to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, until the potatoes are barely tender when pierced with a knife. Drain the potatoes in a colander, then place the colander with the potatoes over the empty pot and cover with a clean, dry kitchen towel Allow the potatoes to steam for 15 to 20 minutes Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, vinegar, Dijon mustard, dill, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of pepper Set aside When the potatoes are cool enough to handle, cut them into quarters or halves, depending on their size Place the cut potatoes in a large bowl While the potatoes are still warm, pour enough dressing over them to moisten (As the salad sits, you may need to add more dressing.) Add the celery and red onion, 2 teaspoons of salt and 1 teaspoon of pepper. Toss well, cover, and refrigerate for a few hours to allow the flavors to blend
Serve cold or at room temperature

Exciting times at The Tennis House!
The lawn tennis courts are open and starting to see more and more play each day.
Court Tennis continues to rocket along with activity and new players are picking up the ‘ game of kings’ on a regular basis
The squash courts are seeing more and more new players picking up the game and looking for a cardio workout, and I am sure the membership will look to enjoy the air-conditioned courts as the weather gets warmer and warmer
With Harrow bringing graphite racquets to the game, we have seen an influx of new players on the court not to mention having the Club’s pickleball enthusiasts take advantage of having lines and a portable net available for use on the Racket court
We have a number of exciting events on the calendar over the next few months (page 29), we hope you will join us!

The favorable Spring weather allowed us to open the greens on April 1st and an active golf season has begun We are happy to welcome back some familiar faces and continuity with the return of the entirety of the golf professional staff New to the staff, please join me in welcoming Assistant-in-Training Brady Tucker, who worked alongside Assistant Golf Professional Hayden Winch this past winter at Lemon Bay Golf Club on the West Coast of Florida
The Men’s and Ladies’ Opening Day events kicked off our respective tournament seasons in early May and participation remains robust.
In one of our more casual men ’ s events, the team of Robert Gomez, Steve Lyski, Tom Corcoran, & Cliff Griep outplayed 22 other teams in the Men’s Opening Day ABCDE Mixer with the low scramble score of 64. Nathalie Maio took home the first “silver” trophy of the season in near record-setting fashion with her seven-point victory in the Ladies’ 18-Hole Laurie Zellweger – marking her second time winning the event (2009) In the Member-Member, Chuck Bloom and Andrey Kosovych survived a scare from Runners-Up Ashish Malik & Jasjit Singh en route to a one-stroke victory with a net team score of 61 (-10)
Looking ahead, our premiere Men’s Member-Guest, the Men’s Invitational, is just a month away in late June; and the Women’s Summer Member-Guest follows in mid-July We look forward to sharing those results

GOLF
UPDATE
As we begin our active season, the Golf and Green Committee would like to remind all Members of the common courtesies that encompass golf course etiquette and assist us in ensuring that all players have the highest quality experience while enjoying our golf course. In short, it is about “respect”:
RESPECT FOR THE COURSE
Leave the course as you would like to find it by repairing pitch-marks, replacing divots, raking bunkers, etc
RESPECT FOR YOUR FELLOW PLAYERS AND STAFF
Be sportsmanlike, polite, avoid distracting behavior, and play at a reasonable pace of play.
RESPECT FOR THE GAME
By knowing the rules and etiquette of golf
GOLF UPDATE
For the first time in many years, The Tuxedo Club was represented in the Women’s Metropolitan Golf Association (WMGA) Team Matches After five Spring matches, and under the leadership of Captain Kellie Baldwin, Tuxedo triumphed with a point total of 58.5 compared to 55.5 from Runners-Up Saint Andrew’s Golf Club to capture the Series 9 title Congratulations to team members Caroline Beers, Maureen Cook, Jane DePiero, Joette Fullerton, Allison Kucinski, Kelly Larson, Shauna Muller, Doreen Rose, Kristen Swenson and especially our Captain Kellie Baldwin!
In the fall of this year, Tuxedo will host the Robert Trent Jones Society Annual Meeting The mission of the Society is to honor Robert Trent Jones Sr. and his work, to preserve the historical information and documents pertinent to the golf courses he designed, and to encourage and support the education of member clubs on the design principles of his courses Over the past several years, the Society has had the opportunity to meet and play at some of the finest Robert Trent Jones designed courses in the Country including Valderrama, Spyglass Hill, Point O’ Woods, and Old Warson We have listened to the very interesting histories of each of these courses and their unique and common problems of being a private club in this era. A special thank you to Jake Lindsay, our Club’s Director for the society, for his enthusiasm in promoting the awareness and appreciation of the history of the golf courses that Robert Trent Jones, Sr designed including ours!
