With regard to the Club's dress code, it is incumbent upon you to make sure your guests comply with the Club’s expectation and rules We encourage our members and guests, if in doubt, to err on the side of formality and conservatism Male members and male guests are expected to keep their shirts tucked in while golfing, while ladies may wear golf shirts untucked in a fashionable manner Headgear may only be worn with the bill forward and when entering any building, all headgear must be removed. The Lakeside at Main allows for casual wear, but we do ask that your choices reflect an awareness of other diners and Club traditions Jackets are not required for Lakeside dining but are often worn, particularly on Saturday evenings
On a brighter note, I am happy to report that membership continues to grow here at Tuxedo Our Membership Committee has had a very active spring and early summer introducing candidates into the membership process Interest remains strong, even with the recent initiation fee increase across all classes of membership Members introducing candidates is our best way to ensure continued Club vibrancy, while maintaining a culture embraced by membership If you have an interested friend or family member, our Membership Director Katie Gaertner can be reached at kgaertner@thetuxedoclub org and at 845-351-4791 X318.
As always, I look forward to seeing you on your visits to the Club and hope the rest of the summer brings warm days, cool evenings and much time enjoyed with family and friends!

Despite the crazy weather, we have had a wonderful start to summer! From our Memorial Day Polar Plunge to our Father’s Day Luau, to our Independence Day Celebration, creating special memories for you, your friends and your family is why we do what we do, and we are honored that so many of your special summer moments take place at the Club.
From dinners on the terrace to matches on the tennis courts, we love to see our members connect with each other, catch up with old friends, and forge new relationships Although the weather didn’t work out for our fireworks on July 2, we were so happy to see everyone dancing the night away and enjoying Chef's spread of BBQ favorites!
For those with young children (ages 3-12) we'd like to remind you of our popular Thursday night Kids' Socials - details can be found on pages 21 & 23
Looking forward into the season we will be having our second annual Clambake on July 22nd, our 9th annual Car Show on July 30th, and our fireworks display on Labor Day Weekend will conclude our summer celebrations
Here’s to a great remainder of the summer season!

SEARED SALMON WITH SUMMER SQUASH, ASPARAGUS, AND BABY ARUGULA
Recipe From Chef Frederick Daniel, CEC
Ingredients:
4 / 6 oz salmon fillets, skinned
Extra-virgin olive oil
4 baby zucchini, sliced lengthways
4 yellow summer squash, roughly chopped
Pinch Maldon sea salt
2 cups thin asparagus
7 ounces baby arugula
2 lemons, halved
For the dressing:
5 sprigs fresh thyme, leaves picked
Maldon sea salt
4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 lemon, juiced
Method:
Season the salmon fillets with salt and lightly drizzle them with olive oil Season the squash and asparagus with salt
Heat a griddle pan (or barbecue) and, when very hot, sear the salmon and vegetables until nicely char-grilled This should only take a few minutes on each side
Meanwhile, make your dressing. Finely chop the thyme with a pinch of salt Combine with the olive oil and lemon juice and stir
Remove the salmon and vegetables from the heat Toss the vegetables with the arugula, drizzle with the dressing and serve with the salmon. Finish off with a bit more dressing drizzled over the salmon Serve with half a lemon Serves 4

COURSE UPDATE
By Casey Klossner, Director of Agronomy
Summer is in full swing for the Grounds Maintenance Department, or should I say, “The Dog Days of Summer”?!
Weather patterns have been inconsistent at best, with abnormally dry, cool weather occurring in May and early June, and abnormally humid and wet weather occuring in July Since June 15th, our property has received over 11 inches of rain with temperatures averaging in the upper 80s For perspective, that 5-week stretch has yielded double the rain received within the first 5 months of the year!
During stretches like these, my thoughts go back to the "old days" prior to the bunker renovation During our most recent storm, we had 4 inches of rain and only ONE bunker washed out. We simply pushed the sand back up, tamped it, and raked the bunker as we normally would Our staff was able to prepare the course properly for an Outing that day without closure or delay
In the "old days", after 4 inches of rain, it would have taken the entire staff two whole days to repair bunker washouts Bunkers would need to be pumped, repaired, silt shoveled, edged, tamped and raked Some bunkers would even fill back up with water multiple times in the same day. What a difference, and I think I can safely say that we are all thrilled with our new normal
From all of us on the Grounds Staff, have a great summer and we hope to see all of you out on the golf course!

GOLF UPDATE
By Chris Muldoon, Director of Golf
We are approaching the middle of the summer and generally our busiest time of year on the golf course As we look back on the first couple months of the season, we’d like to recognize some of our recent tournament winners.
Despite the threat of inclement weather, the Men’s Invitational was a huge success as a full field of 120 players enjoyed three days of golf, camaraderie, and competition. For likely the first time in Club history, Joe Furlong & guest Ed Coughlin repeated as Invitational Champions with help from an impressive pitch shot from Furlong in the Flight Champions Shoot-Out
Some of our other “Silver” trophy winners (since June) have included:
Igor Kosharsky broke through in the DeRham Cup (18-Hole Individual Stroke Play for Members under the age of 50) for his first “Silver” victory - less than a month after converting from Oak Leaf to Regular Membership
Andy Kosovych added another “Silver” trophy to his collection with a five-stroke victory in the Hay Cup (18-Hole Individual Stroke Play for Members 50 years of age and older)
In our first Mixed event of the season, A. Jay & Kellie Baldwin captured their third McVickar Cup (2015, 2017, & 2023).
Cheryl Rubin & Karen Banyo overcame a large deficit and finished strong to win the Ladies’ 18-Hole Governor’s Cup This marks the third time Mrs. Banyo has won the Governor’s Cup, but the first time for Dr Rubin
1886 Magazine | Page 39
Most recently, Jatindar Kapur & Cole Meitner endured the rainshortened Mason & Tomes Cups and finished on top. Inclement weather on Sunday forced the event to be shortened to 27 holes (from 36) Kapur held off good friend Gagan Singh to win the Mason Cup (Net) for his first individual “Silver” victory, while Cole captured his fifth straight Tomes Cup (Gross) despite trailing Joseph Furlong IV and father Charlie Meitner after Round One
There is still so much to look forward to over the next few months. We look forward to sharing those results.
From all of us at Tuxedo, thank you for your continued support of the golf program I encourage you to contact me or any member of the professional staff if we can be of any assistance throughout the remainder of the season.
