A MESSAGE FROM CASEY KLOSSNER

WINTER PREPARATIONS
By Casey Klossner, Director of Agronomy
As the 2022 golf season comes to a close, winter preparations are ramping up in the realm of Grounds Maintenance. In addition to routine leaf cleanup and fescue mowing, all playing surfaces have been core aerified, select fairways de-thatched and the irrigation system has been blown out.
In the upcoming weeks, in-house projects will be continuing, but our primary objective will be to ensure the golf course is ready for the winter months.
As the sod freezes in December, our putting greens will be closed and temporary pin locations will be cut into approach areas.
Lastly, our newly purchased putting green covers will be installed to protect our greens from the harshness of winter.
Happy Holidays from the Grounds Maintenance Department and stay tuned for another update in the new year!
