Message From the Command Staff

First Sergeant, MSgt Galindez Oquendo

The success of the squadron is because of you. And your success is because the support of your family and friends. Your professionalism, resiliency, ability to adjust to any situation will continue to propel the squadron forward. This past year has been one of many challenges and accomplishments. We welcomed a flight into the squadron, the Munitions Management Flight. We completed the C-130 divesture and simultaneously developed a strategy with the ANG Readiness Center to requisition equipment for the new mission sets. As we continue to support the demands of COVID-19, we can expect operation tempo will continue to be challenging. We will begin with the Security Forces RCP, we will receive equipment for the new mission set, later this summer Vigilant Guard 2021, and we will move back into the renovated building 11. Our focus will be conversion and the commander’s inspection program all the while continue our Hurricane prep as the season will soon be upon us once again. We will balance these priorities while we continue to develop our current and future Logisticians. You are make logistics the heart and soul of the wing, and our success feeds success for all. As we grow as a team, the squadron will be the BEST LRS in the nation!

Our Munitions Flight is responsible for the storage, accountability, inspections, issue and deliver of munitions Pictured on the left is TSgt Luis Lopez, SSgt Christina Costoso (TMO), and TSgt Hector Rios; this team went to Savannah, GA in Jan 2021. Their actions ensured 26 Security Forces Defenders deployment qualification prior to their deployment. Soon after they returned Presidential Security Mission Jan 2021: Provided support to the Army units deployed during the Presidential Security Mission by storing and processing their munitions with required documentation. With the addition of the Contingency Response Group (CRG), Combat Communication (CBCs) and more personnel in Civil Engineering, Munitions will be handling almost the triple of munitions assets and allocations.

The team became stronger by having new capable operators in support of our mission.

Our Air Force would not exist if it was not for the dedication of this team providing clean dry fuel for aircraft, vehicles, and ground equipment. This flight is still pumping and in the past two years they have issued more fual than the last two years of the C-130s.
