James McKenna Studio Aging is a journey into invisibility. The recovered, repurposed, battered materials I use express a refusal to disappear once one’s “useful life” has passed. This foregrounded materiality is central to my practice. It celebrates the lost millions, year by year devalued but insistently present. Left behind, left out, we remain, and that, by itself, is courageous.
