If you’re interested in advancing along the nursing career pathway, your Training and Employment Funds (TEF) are here to help.

Improve your skills

TEF provides thousands of hours of online classes and webinars to advance your knowledge, fulfill continuing education requirements, prepare for certification exams and enhance patient-care skills. If you need help with a class, our Learning Centers offer educational support, tutoring services, workshops and access to a variety of academic resources.

Receive career counseling and job-search assistance

You can meet with counselors one on one or attend counseling workshops to plot your career path and identify ways to reach your goals, both in direct patient care and the healthcare industry in general. Our Employment Center offers job placement services, including resume reviews, applicant phone screening and vacancy referrals by matching applicant qualifications to vacancy requirements.

Become certified as a CNA or LPN

You can receive financial and other assistance to receive certification as a Certified Nurse’s Aide (CNA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). CNA Certificate Program – Participants can receive grants and tuition assistance and will be eligible to sit for the New York State certification exam after completing the program. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and be fluent in English. LPN Program – Participants can receive tuition assistance and must pass an entrance exam to be accepted into an accredited LPN program at a vocational school or college. Prospective students must attend the LPN Tuition Assistance Workshop, which gives an overview of the LPN job market, approved schools that offer LPN programs, and tuition assistance procedures and requirements. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and be fluent in English.

Earn a nursing degree

Financial assistance is available if you are enrolled in a nursing program. The Training Funds also provide you with case management, academic advisement and support if you are enrolled in the following types of nursing programs: RN: Registered Nurse Degree Programs AAS: Associate of Applied Science in Nursing BSN: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, including RN to BSN MSN: Master of Science in Nursing, including Nurse Practitioner and other advanced nursing degrees Please visit MyTEF for more information -
